Trying to hide the news towards the end of the day. It's a positive figure compared to many days we've had. On top of all the people signed up to volunteer and the news that testing should be here soon I think whilst we can't be complacent and the 3 weeks on lockdown might have to be extended, we should try and be a bit more positive.
Perhaps. But I personally don't read too much into when the figures are released. It could simply be due to delays in reporting. I also try not to read too much into the death rates and infection rates in general over a daily basis.
It appears I posted that with the blunt end of a wine bottle. See this mornings response to you in the other thread for figures.
I see an article on the BBC stating that some people are questioning the WHO advice on using masks comparing attitudes to mask in China vs the West. Having read carefully all the advice from medical sources I conclude IF everyone adheres to social distancing , uses disposable gloves wherever possible, washes their hands frequently especially after touching surfaces outside then masks for most of us are pointless and the supply should be reserved for frontline medical staff, anyone tested positive, anyone serving and/or, preparing food... butchers bakers fishmongers greengrocers, supermarket checkout staff or anyone tested positive or showing symptoms. Given the advice is that touching your face should be avoided and you do so when fitting, removing, adjusting a mask , many masks are inadequate or poorly fitted, some people re-use them, IMO they have the potential to do more harm than good. They also give a false sense of security.
I’m not a medical expert, but early on I’d heard that the most useful thing about masks was they stop you touching your face.
Weirdly , and I am not arguing but I heard the opposite as fitting adjusting and removing meant you touched it more frequently I have used dust-masks in hot weather when sawing wood (which is apparently carcinogenic) and found I was touching my face more often when adjusting removing the damn thing. I hated wearing it but that may just be me being a wuss
I have to say; this has made me realise how often I touch my face and I’m starting to feel paranoid that I’ve got some sort of nervous disorder
Many of us have parents or Grandparents in the high risk groups - my parents are both in their '80's I would hate to be responsiblk Same here though bizarrely much more with my left hand than my right - so I am now trying to avoid touching things with my left hand at all when out and about - I dont know how you break a face touching habit of over half a century
