Great, I'm at Weston Park hospital Tuesday to start Cancer treatment, can't say I'm looking forward to either now
Wonder how many are self isolating at this time in South Yorks? I'm 7 days in, not sure what to do after, still got a hacking cough and no idea if I've actually had it.
Cheers Marlon, just my luck to get cancer in the worst pandemic the world has seen for an hundred years
I haven't had any support, family delivered food for us all. Just been told to isolate and contact GP in 14 days time. I've had numerous colds this winter and need an asthma test but they refused to do it whilst in had potential symptoms.
My wife recently finished her first 6 months of Chemo there, just take all their advice on board, listen to them, and don't read what is often irrelevant or wrong advice on the internet...you are in the best hands there are anywhere. Edit...just to add to that, after the initial shock and dread we had over Cancer...and the feelings of a lifetime that the words Weston Park meant nothing but the end, we found nothing could be further from the truth....it's a place of hope, and great people and we were very much comforted that we were in their hands.
I should have been taking my Dad for his latest appointment there this week and he was due to be prescribed new medication, his old having ceased to work. He was phoned by his Consultant on Monday who advised him not to travel and indicated that the last thing they would want to do was to start him on another drug which weakened his immune system at this difficult time. Each case is obviously different, but I would suspect that you may receive similar advice. Hope this is of assistance.
