We’ve got a handful and they’re all 3 of those. What will be nicer is that we’ll have decided they can come here not Brussels. But is now really the time for this type of skit. I’d like to think that in times of adversity tarn fans could bury their differences and come together.

    Disgusting innit?

I'm sure you'd never spend all your time slagging somebody off in our country.

    Somebody like BoJo for example.

He's fair game. He spent 10 years being part of a government that chose to systematically underfund the NHS whilst funelling money to their friends with offshore bank accounts. Now this and he's talking up "saving the NHS". Yeah, and this is political because people after 10 years of "invisible deaths" due to cuts, we now have something we can clearly see the effects of.

Still, the NHS got a good round of appluase from those backing those policies, so there is that I suppose.

It's only now that the (presently) healthy are realising what they might need from their health service.

For later years - the last 15 or so once you pass 45 and get towards 60 and beyond - I see that there is scope for more of us to contribute more to the NHS. That's where it should come from.

The elderly are often able to contribute - I get to see their savings on a daily basis and alot can afford it.

If not, then get it off them when they're dead.

Inheritance Tax could save us all, if applied properly.

But no, all you lot are just like The Queen - wanting to pass on what you've earned to your family.

Problem with that idea is people would just change when they transfer the money surely?
ie instead of leaving in a will etc, sell up early and give the money early.

Or we could just make the tax avoiders and evaders, individuals and companies pay their dues. I pay mine, why should they get a free pass?

Do you mean also the permanently unemployed despite fit, the ones who don't declare their cash in hand, the shysters, the ones who claim incapacity when they could work?

I bracket all "avoiders" irrespective of which side of the fence they come from. Avoiders and evaders everywhere. Why is what I said a left or right political statement?

Get a system which makes everyone pay their fair share.

Well if we recouped funds through Inheritance tax, he might have been sorted. That's what I'm on about.

Exactly. A tighter system. But everyone has to accept that they need to pay their bit. Those with big pots on death pay more.

First thing to go should be this "trust" ********. Leaving it in trust should be abolished. You either own summat or you don't. If you do, it gets taxed when you die.

So did the last coalition govt to be fair so they set up depts and three quarters of the depts were assigned to the people on benefits .
The richest tax evaders hired top end accountants and lawyers so they left them alone .

The difference is they often spend that cash on 'cigs and flat screen TVs' and it goes back into the economy.

The trillions of money funnelled into tax havens is never seen again.

Edit: both are wrong, but the gap in moral equivalance between the two is huge.

I'm all for a fair society - bleating about the past gets us nowhere.

I'm just telling how I see the way to fix it.

Agreed. All this tax haven and trust stuff should be abolished. Immediately.
