You've managed a couple of clubs since your time at Barnsley, looking back at your time with both clubs is there anything you would have done differently? What players impressed him whilst managing in Scotland and in particular are there any who you would be decent additions for Barnsley? After spending time in Edinburgh are you now a "salt and sauce" man or still an old school "salt and vinegar" guy?
How do you gloss stairs spindles without it dribbling all down the grooves? And, totally unrelated, how do you delete search history, on an iPad, if you have accidentally, say, end up on a page with er...ladies, not wearing much and having...fun? Given the current tissue and toilet roll crisis, and relating to the above question, do you think I ought to wash my socks on a 60degree wash?
I think it’s fair to say that questions fired at him should NOT be of the fluffy type that we see above. As you all know I have been generally supportive of the owners - even though most on here haven’t been. However, this Q&A session with Hecky is a golden opportunity to dig deep and ask real questions about the state of Barnsley Football Club from someone who has first hand knowledge of working inside the club under the present ownership Things he said to me was - he had been offered the managers job at Forest and Sunderland and turned them down - but the club became in such a MESS that he told Ganaye the next club that comes along he would be leaving. Hecky needs to be pushed on that to explain why he thought the club was in a mess and what role was Ganaye playing in that to make it a mess? Or was it Paul Conway that was causing that ‘mess’? He also said he thought the appointment of Stendel was a bad idea because foreign managers don’t know the English league and English players. As Struber is a foreign manager then Hecky has to be asked if he maintains that view and explain it more.
I mean this with complete sincerity, but you’re missing the whole point of this. It isn’t an opportunity to ‘dig deep’ or ask Hecky to confirm quotes attributed to him by Young Nudger on the BBS.
Thanks for all the good memories. I was a bit too young to properly take in promotion to the premier league so the two Wembley wins & been on the brink of the play offs in January 17 are the best memories I’ve had as a Reds fan. How frustrating was the summer of 2017? If you’d been supported in that transfer window would it have convinced you to stay? You wanted experience & we only signed kids, you said you wanted strikers & another central midfielder yet we kept signing no. 10’s. Do you believe like I do that we would’ve been comfortably mid-table if McBurnie was here for the season? What’s your realistic preferred next move? Back in management at league 1 / league 2 level? Do you think any of your ex- Barnsley teammates Devaney, Hassell, Tonge etc will become managers?
Oh no loko? It is 100% the opportunity to ask him to confirm quotes. For many of us that will be the highlight of our isolation.
Could you ask him... With the introduction of VAR into the game, does he now admit that he was offside leaving to go to Leeds?
Jeez. My name shouldn’t be mentioned. But if it turns into a giddy escapade then you may as well swap Hecky for Sooty and Sweep.
Which gave him most pleasure, Winning the play-off as a player Winning the JP Trophy Winning the play off as a manager
Which managers/ coaches did he learn most from as a player and how did they influence him as a manager?
Could you ask what on earth happened with the McBurnie loan being called off? We'd have stayed up if it'd have gone through. Or if we'd have kept Roberts. God we really do mess it up every opportunity!
If you want those types of questions answering why don't you ask him yourself, you speak to him often enough...
