MONEY MONEY MONEY Just finish the leage FA under a Force Majure like you have with the lower leagues. OH Sorry you wont. The BIG boys have got better lawyers than you.
Pathetic. Scratch the thing for God's sake. "Money money money in the F L's world" Put an end to all the speculation.
You could be right I suppose, its anyones guess when football will be played again or even when the lockdown will end.
If that proves to be the case Scoff, I wonder how many Clubs will possibly go under.? It's a disturbing prospect, but as far as I'm concerned, if they've overstretched their budgets and basically cheated and have become unsustainable, they've only got themselves to blame.
That is the problem they are facing. We are probably among the luckiest in this respect, but many of the clubs will be losing too much money to continue. I've already posted elsewhere, but cricket and rugby league are in the same situation. Many of these clubs will be out of business if it does take that long to restart sports - as will many grassroots level sports clubs.
This is very true. It's time for football to get it's act together & work for the many clubs out there, not just the few richest ones. Like all of society it's time to drop the "me first" and realise that without Tranmere Rovers or Blackpool, Liverpool's success has little relevance, Man City mean nothing without Accrington Stanley & Oldham, etc... If the pyramid falls, everyone falls. The day to day kit washers & other back room staff are as important as the stars. We recognised that with Norman Rimmington, but there are Norman's everywhere out there.
PS I'm not rubbishing Norman, he grew up in Mapplewell, as my Dad did. He trained my dad in the engineering block at North Gawber colliery in the short time he was not employed by the club, after he'd retired as a player. Norman is a legend, but every club has these untalked about people.
Serous chance of alienation of football fans who are finding it hard financially and possible health conditions due to this pandemic. We need to preserve the league's integriary .players need to take a percentage pay cut across the board or face a backlash.
Why do you think it's more morally correct to cancel the league than to postpone? How many lives will that save?
