We flew back from Mexico ten days ago. Upon landing at Manchester we received NO advice on isolating and neither of us showed any Covid 19 symptoms. Whilst waiting at the luggage carousel I spoke to the cabin crew who said they were straight into lockdown and self-isolating due to having been on the flight. The words were “because there is a good chance somebody has got it”. We returned to work and thankfully my workplace was closed with us all from working from home. Unfortunately my wife is a key worker and had to go to work. I think you can picture where this is leading to. I began to get what I would call a dry throat at the start of the week. I checked my temperature in the middle of the week and it was 37.2 (top of the normal range). I started with flu like symptoms yesterday so now in self-isolation for seven days with the wife in self-isolation for 14 days unless she shows symptoms. So far so good on that front. So, thanks to the government providing no guidance upon returning to the UK (despite searching and finding nothing on Public Health England, NHS or FCO websites and phone calls to my GP surgery and 111), I could have inadvertently passed it on. I would class myself as healthy with no underlying conditions but, at 4:30 this morning, I was struggling to breathe with pain in my airway. I am unwell but soldiering through and can now understand how it could overwhelm someone with breathing difficulties. Please stick to the social distancing and do not go out unless totally necessary. Keep safe, stay in, save lives.
A relative returned from Mexico last sunday. Key worker. Told us the same story. Is in the high risk category. Self isolating at home. Partner another key worker. But other countries are putting people in lockdown for 2 weeks. after returning from abroad. Stay home. Get well.
Thank you all. I have tried to find a way to blame it on Conway et al but struggling beyond the first two letters are the same (c and o). Can’t be bothered with the club site - has any message gone out wishing the fans well? Or is Conway too busy trying to buy a Scottish club?
Take care TOB. Look after your Mrs and concentrate on getting yourself back to your best asap. Good luck pal.
Well you say look after Mrs Puppy but I now realise it was her hands around my throat causing the shortness of breath. I wondered why she asked about my life insurance the other day
Hope you get well soon fella and your wife avoids it! But seriously did you have to bring your germs on here!
You're OK as long as you're not accessing the site via 5G, apparently. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-52164358 Bon rétablissement, TTP.
We're fine for the moment, thank you for asking, old mate. As our daughter Laura is at 'High Risk', she's studying for her MSC at home. I'm regarded as 'At Risk', so am busying myself reading, watching the telly and going into our small garden to feed the birds. Poor, old Crystal is running around, feeding us and fully appreciating my wonderful words of wit and profound wisdom! Honest(!)
I certainly have. It isn't true that Crystal has had me surgically removed from the settee! Trust me(!)
I saw some lovely birds on holiday. Oh hang on Mrs Puppy’s hands are around my neck again - so much for social distancing
