Well I joined the party to vote for him, put Nandy second and Khan/Burgon for deputy. Labour need to move to the centre and hold it. The choice at the last election was a choice of extremes which is not where most of the electorate stand.
I voted for him and Angela - so you can blame me for any failings from now on!!! People might not like it, I know being the rebel on the outside look cool, but it does naff all for ordinary folk. The candidate the Tories most feared was Starmer, tells you all you need to know.

marlon ,i'm not having a go at you pal,i'm just pointing out that Corbyn jumped ship and those who turned their backs on him did so because they thought he'd turned his back on them had corbyn had the balls to stand by forty years of being anti EU then those seats in the north would still be red,those voters saw corbyn as weak and spineless..BTW,i bet most of those voters dont even bother reading any papers at all. I know your not having a go dek and even if you are your entitled and I know you always have respect when your posting . I wasn’t having a go either just saying what I thought . I know a lot don’t read papers but a lot did and it was the social media that were the worst . He went with his constituents regards Brexit although he didn’t agree with the remainers personally when it cane to publicly taking a side he went with his constituents . Just like Lisa Nandy did at last election most MPs sided with their constituents and Keir Starmer did but his constituents also happened to be remainers so it was a no brainier for him anyway. I loved centrist New Labour politics. If you had had the misfortune to rely on the NHS through those years you’d know what I mean.

Think you’ve misunderstood pal. We’ve had the misfortune to see the NHS up close from 1991 right through to today. The improvement in NHS services during the Blair/Brown years was extremely significant. Then the Tories took over in 2010 and, again, the change has been significant. No amount of ideology can change people’s lived experience. Hopefully, the Labour Party can now once more start to properly represent the people it was created for.
Correct , but where did they get the money from ? Instead of raising taxes they used private markets hence the net 70% extra cash to pay back for those improvements . They say tony Blair was Margaret Thatcher's greatest achievement and I tend to agree with that sentiment .

Whatever. I just want to be able to vote for a Labour Party that has the chance to govern and to look after the poorest in society. Something that the Corbyn years ensured could never happen.
TIme will tell as to whether he will be a good leader. I personally wanted to see some fresh faces put their case forward for the leadership instead of the same faces we constantly see on various TV shows etc. It didn't happen so not sure the party have moved forward with this appointment. Think as a world leader, charisma is important and I think Starmer just comes across a bit damp dish cloth and doesn't fill me full of optimism when he speaks. Can he prove otherwise. When PMQ's get back to normal post this fecking virus, let's see what he has in his locker. A bit of controlled anger wouldn't be a bad start. Least he won't get involved in this millionaires row jobe at the Tory front bench, he is also a multi millionaire so that doesn't wash. Most of all what I want to see is the leader of the Labour party actually promoting their own policies rather than continuing what really developed under Milliband which is just the policy of criticising the Tories. My advice to Starmer would be chalk **** on what other parties policies are, push your own agenda with enthusiasm and belief. By all means hold the government to account, but rather than getting bogged down focused on Tory policies, show the public what could be the alternative and convince the nation of a new direction. I'll give him time and I'll be surprised if he changes my initial view of him. He should be aware the wolves and vultures are already circulating waiting for his first mistake
