This is not meant to be an antagonising post I am genuinely curious

All people who voted remain... having seen the effects coronavirus is having on the EU are you relieved or aggrieved we are no longer part of it?

Purely based on the coronavirus situation? Aggrieved. We would have had more ventilators if we were still members and not focused n leaving.

As a remainer this has no relevance to me. Why would it have relevance if we were still going to be in the EU?

If we're still in lockdown in December we'll all starve. Our food source is Europe and that will be at best under restriction but more than likely closed. Ask people then, see what they think.

Personally I think we would have been better off still part of it. And involved in the joint acquisition of PPE and ventilators. Don’t forget as well a lot of our food and things like bog roll is still coming from there. If they had included us in their border lockdown things would be much worse

Am so glad it's not having any impact here - so glad we've left.
Think most EU countries are in charge of their own health services - why Germany is coping far better than us - and making their own governmental decisions on how to act in the crisis ....

That probably wouldn't have been wise but we could have ordered some ventilators as part of the EU collective ventilator scheme

Thankfully even the Brexit madmen will not consider inflicting further damage on us by not extending the transition. Will they?

Someone said they are so glad we're left and Dyson has showed we can flourish in the future - pretty sure they're being manufactured in Singapore

One of my friends who voted Brexit has said we've had enough time and should not extend it - business will look completely different after all this - more uncertain than it was before .

The main thing that has surprised me is how different the stances are country to country, as one currency I would have expected one stance.

I can't see what negative difference it would have had. Perhaps our government might have even engaged to try and coordinate a response or obtain ventilators rather than ignoring emails and meetings - seemingly cutting off our nose just to spite our face.

So... your problem with the EU is that they allow their members too much autonomy and sovereignty?

That can't be right. All decisions are made by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels

I thought the whole purpose of it was the collective? Shared knowledge, resources, finances, skills etc. If as soon as a crisis hits every country shuts up shop and goes it alone what was the point in the first place?
