As most of you know I've been locating, documenting and digitising Barnsley FC footage.
Below is a list of all the games that were shown on regional television before they stopped showing highlights this way.
The games underlined are what we have (I've put most of them on YouTube)
Does anybody have the missing games in any format? It would be great to know that they exist in someone's collection even better if we could borrow the tapes.

    Many thanks.

I've just started converting some VHS tapes and I was going to make contact when I've completed them. Trouble is, they might be too new for you as most were from Sky Sports. I've so far done a Watford match and a Stockport came. They come complete with period adverts too.

Im sure we have that Derby game 0-0. Banks hits a cracker that there keeper parried about 100 ft straight up in the air. By the time it came down there were 20 players waiting for it.

    Or so it seemed.

I remember a 5-1 thrashing at Northampton that ITV let us watch mid seventies .. what a treat.

I've not come across it in the tapes I've had.

It would be good to compare what we have. I'm in the middle of putting a complete list of what I have.

Was that towards the end of the 1975/76 season when Northampton won promotion? If I remember correctly, one of Northampton's goals was scored by Graham Felton, who had had a successful loan period with us earlier in the campaign. In fact, he made a huge contribution to our upturn in results and performances which saw us move up from the bottom of the entire football league to mid table safety at the end.
Felton joined us on a free transfer during the close season of 1976, but was never able to produce the form he'd shown whilst on loan.

Graham Felton..... he was the bain of the father of one of my friends. After the umpteenth wayward cross he shouted to whomever was listening. "Yond Feltons wearin Wellies".

For me, I thought Felton added balance to the team down the right wing. Prior to his arrival, most of our attacks came down the left flank from the likes of Millar, Otulakowski and/or Chambers/Gorry.

We extracted the Doncaster 2-2 and Wednesday 2-0 away games from the tapes we had didn't we, Dave. I used clips from them for my "Those Were The Days' compilation on YouTube.

We've got the full 40 mins Wednesday footage and I think the goals from the Donny game. It would be great to complete this list.

I was never a fan of Felton, though he tried hard enough. One of my earliest away games was at Northampton in April 79 (if I remember correctly Brian Joicey got the only goal). The mate I was travelling with was taken ill the previous day, so I was on my own. I ended up stood with a few home fans, who wandered into the away end at half-time. They couldn't stop laughing about the time we took Felton off their hands.

Didn't Derek Bell score our goal that night?

Am I getting my games muddled? Wouldn't be the first time. :)
It was a Saturday game that I'm thinking of. I have a memory of a cross from the right wing and Joicey smacking it in. Definitely Northampton away though. I remember describing the goal for my mate the following day. I might be thinking of the wrong season though. Memory like a wottsname...

After a bit of digging, I reckon I'm thinking of the 1-1 draw in Nov 1977.

I was getting my first away season muddled.

When we won there in '79, it was on a rare Thursday night game. Due to the number of matches we had postponed that Winter, we had to cram a great number of games into a relatively short space of time. After Clarkey was crippled by a disgusting challenge by the dirty Bob Cumming at Grimsby, we struggled to get over the finishing line. We only clinched promotion in the penultimate game at home to Grimsby. There's no doubt in my mind we were the best team in the division, even if we didn't win the title.
I can honestly say I don't remember us beating Northampton 1-0 with a Brian Joicey goal. My memory's not what it was, though, so I don't doubt you're correct, old mate.
edit: I've just seen your other post.

Talking of opposition players we loved to hate, who was the Rotherham player that Norman Hunter chinned at Millmoor in around 1981? From memory, we were losing 2-0 and Norman finally ran out of patience with this guy who’d been niggling him all day. He thumped him, the opponent went down like a sack of spuds, and Norman walked straight off before the referee could send him off.

Wasn’t that Grimsby rather than Rotherham? Seem to remember Norman being sent off there for chinning someone.
