It isn't really though. It was a program about the crime. Of course it was going to show crime. Do a program about pensioners committing crime and it will be full of pensioners committing crime. Doesn't mean that all pensioners are criminals though
How about the 10 year old schoolgirl traveler who has raised £10000 for the NHS through the traveler community in the last week? There are good ones, who live the traditional lifestyle and don't commit crimes. There are bad ones, who dump rubbish everywhere and leave a trail of destruction. Probably more of the good ones, but we hear a lot more about the bad ones.
It's the Irish tinkers travellers that cause most of the problems... I've had numerous run ins with them over the years.. But I've never had a problem with the true gypsies.. Ive been made very welcome in their homes... Ive eaten and drank in their company on numerous occasions.. Ive drove their cars and have been to numerous gypsy social events let say lol and not once have I been treated badly... There's some really nice folk amongst them...
Just out of interest, what did you do for them to accept you on that scale? I didn't realize they would accept non travellers so much as to do all that with them
You do have the good ones then you just have the pure scruffy ones who dump everything where they are turfed off. I went to school with a gypsy lad and his sister and we've known them for years and they are a really sound family, you can't write them all off.
Gypsys have bought a small old church building behind the Asda in grimey. Every Sunday hundreds of them meet up there. Cars fill the car park and the gym car park next to it and probably some in Asda car park and on the streets. Every time I see them there on sundays I’m proper curious as to what goes on inside. Always wished I was a fly on the wall just to see. Would be interesting.
Did you see the crime stats where its higher around traveller camps than the national averages? Did you see the police interviews?
