I didn't know the answer. I would have guessed at a city state like Singapore or Monaco or Gibraltar or Bahrain, but would have more likely got it wrong than right. I wouldn't have guessed Macau or Hong Kong, because, for whatever reason, I know they're not countries. At which point my knowledge ended so I've just read about it: Macau is the most densely populated of all those mentioned above. But, like I thought, it's not considered a country. I knew that, but didn't know why. And having read up about it, I still don't know why. Macau, like Hong Kong, has everything that constitutes a country. You need a passport to get in and out of them for christ sake. Officially, you're wrong, but for my money you're right. If they were stuck on the side of any other country in the world, they'd be their own independent countries, it's only because they're attached to China that they're not.
