Cheers, Ben. Will be sure to check it out next time i'm in London. I'm sure there are tonnes of small breweries dotted around the world like it but for me it had a great atmosphere, great choice of ales and good, cheap food. It's 13 years since I was there but I bet it is still good.
Anywhere else delivering locally? I looked at Bottle & Co but I'm out of their catchment, I'm in Goldthorpe. Only outside by a mile, mind.
I ordered in the middle of April from a company called Flavourly online. 20 craft cans for £30 delivered. I now get an email pretty much everyday, normally that would do my head in, but as they've been so nice I enjoy looking at the different selections they offer daily, slightly varying price but always free delivery. I'm getting ready to order again, but their pricing on their site isn't as good value, so will just wait until the next offer that appeals.
Just had 48 Punk IPAs delivered. I love Brewdog stuff and I'm going to give this a try if I get the chance - their website has been inundated by enquiries!
Just picked up a few pouches from Nailmaker (cos its down the road). They chucked in a packet of crisps and some chocolate too!. Tried the grapefruity one - well drinkable but I seem to have become addicted to bubble gas over the years.
Their (amazing) Beer Hall and street food kitchen is 15 minute walk from my house. They do brilliant beers. Rubarbara Streisand is immense, although my favourite is the 13% Empress Tonkoko Milk Stout. One of the head brewers is a Barnsley fan too. My local beer shop, House of Trembling Madness has been delivering throughout. Nowhere near the cheapest but the selection is incredible, and at the end of the day once this is all finished I want them to still exist so happy to pay a bit more.
Yeah the beer hall is fantastic, good food as well. I love a visit to House of Trembling Madness but it's far too easy to spend a week's pay in there!
Both on my “must do” lists when I’m up in York which is often, I love the house of the trembling madness
Haha, other than household bills the only thing I've literally spent money on this month is beer and coffee deliveries. House of Trembling Madness is on my walk home from work so prelockdown was dangerous
So spoilt for good pubs. It's killing me not being able to go to some of them. I was involved in a street food/craft beer/start up project in shipping containers called Spark York which would be the perfect place to be right now on this sunny evening
Just ordered 5 x 5 litre mini kegs of altbier from Germany....€117 including delivery....cheaper than mini kegs over here from the shop ! http://bier-wein.de/
Well done pal, it’s definitely a must for anyone that visits York, we go on a regular basis (or at least we did ) and it’s a place we never miss,
Well I said last night that I'd report back on the Citra Grapefruit...very nice refreshing drink...top marks
In response to @Loko the Tyke , I’d say definitely drinking less - just doesn’t seem the same without friends, and without having done a week’s work. That said, we do have 2/3 nights a week where we have something. I joined a wine club which unearthed some “interesting” wines. Any recommendations for Plum Porters/ Chocolate Porters or Milk Stouts? My other half has been buying them from Morrison’s but i think he’s missing the New Barrack Tavern.
