Its totally disproportionate to other issues.
And it causes so much abuse to be thrown about.
On occasions people being accused of being a racist when the topic of conversation is nothing to do with racism.
Is it a subject that Admin need to consider?

In a general context I agree with you. The term racist / racism is used inappropriately far too often and in my opinion actually undermines the efforts of challenging racism when it does exist.

In the context of what happened in America I think that there is a very real possibility that the actions of the ex police officer were racially motivated but only he will know for certain if he would have treated a white man in the same way. Discussing if was racially motivated isn't racist.

Yes - got to agree with that one as well.
People that cannot understand the topic of discussion or have lost the debate reverting to accusing others of being a wind up merchant.
    Ridiculous.
To be honest I don’t think there is anyone who posts on here that deliberately sets out to wind people up.
Obviously it happens when there are disagreements - but not as an initial comment.

As for racism - I’ve known many people in my life - and I can say that I’ve only ever met 2 racists?
It’s very rare to meet out and out racists - so why are some on here fixated with this issue ?

Not sure which of the threads or posters you are looking at that you consider to be obsessed with racism, political maybe. Can you give a few examples?

I don’t know where you’re drawing the line.

Whether you’re genuinely living in a liberal bubble, your perception is screwed or you’re simply ignorant. But I know dozens of racists, only a few of whom would describe themselves as such though.

Did you meet one of them in the mirror?

Given that you use words like "negro" I'm surprised that you've actually met anyone you consider to be racist. Those 2 people must have been actively committing a hate crime whilst dressed as Hitler and singing "send the buggers back"

I'm sure one poster said he had met Nudger & he was told that Nudger posted on here to deliberately wind folk up, have I got that wrong?

I know an inadvertent racist in do much as he isn’t really and would help anybody of any race or creed without even thinking about it. It’s just that he’s kind of stuck in the seventies humour and terminology wise.

You've probably only met 2 out and out racists, but most racism is "I'm no racist but...." Most people do not believe they are racist because that's a "bad thing".

But lots of people have some racist attitudes.

Its a term too often used by people who don’t understand the definition of the word and often deliberately to stifle a debate. I also hear ‘devastated’ used a lot by people on local news when their plainly not nor have any reason to be. Words used out of context by people who don’t know their meaning or by cleverer people who do and have an agenda. EG Brexit is racist. No it isnt. My daffodils died it was devastating No it wasn't.

I'll meet nudger part way on this. Racism IS sometimes thrown around too easily. It doesn't help solving the problem. However, racism, outright or casual, is a problem in society. It's disgusting and unacceptable and needs to be eradicated and there are plenty of occasions on here where it's evident.

Brexit isn't wholly racist far from it but certainly partly, without a doubt.
