Lockdown in Spain finished on May 2nd and they still have to wear masks to go out.

They started on 2nd May with the reduced restrictions. On that date there were 276 deaths announced. How’s their second spike looking since then?

Nutter? Seriously? Why pose questions if you’re going to insult people who try to give an opinion why?

According to the Guardian, restrictions in Spain began to be released on 12th April, which were my exact words. Did they make this up?

Totally agree. We went into lock-down on 23 March when we had 102 deaths. I have no idea why a day on which there is a 350% higher number of deaths is the right one to relax.

We have the second highest number of deaths in the whole 'kin World. On an island.

Is is only me that can't believe that this government of terminal incompetence, dither, blunder, bluster and ******** has got away with this so lightly? They ought to be being charged with collective manslaughter and drummed out of office into one of their overcrowded Covid-ridden jails.

Every country in the world (with the interesting potential exception of South Korea) with a large number of deaths has had a typical bell curve.

Is that not half the level we are and are their sanction still not far greater than ours?

    Where’s our masks outdoors rule?

Hows our work from home but don’t work from home messaging going.

Why are we we 10k+ and building above them?

For balance, I’m an employer. I’ve brought 10 employees back this week, safely.

I want us back to work, I’ve another 30 people to try to bring back. I know that I’m going to struggle to get them all back once furlough ends, so I’m not just sat here thinking I’m ok, **** it, I’m safe ******** to the rest. I’m actually the complete opposite.

The week up to the 2nd May, leading to the reduction of lockdown Spain had the following deaths:

    May 2nd - 276
    May 1st - 281
    Apr 30th - 268
    Apr 29th - 453
    Apr 28th - 301
    Apr 27th - 331
    Apr 26th - 288

The average of that little lot is 314.

    In the last 7 days, the UK has had: 377, 412, 134, 121, 118, 282 and 351.

The average of those 7 days is 256.

We’re further along the curve and having less deaths than Spain were at the same time, when they reduced restrictions. This far, happily, they’ve seen no second spike - in fact the opposite is true, cases have continued to fall rapidly along the same bell curve that every heavily affected country has seen.

As an aside - I don’t understand why people think other countries don’t have chavs or bellends that flout the rules? Why do people in Britain look at their own country through such ****-tinted spectacles in comparison to other countries?

I’ll use your own source. That article massively jumped the gun.

Our friends from Barca were allowed out of their flat for anything other than food, and that was on 2nd May. I’ve photographic evidence on my Facebook.

If you read the guardian post I have attached, you’ll see that in rural areas, they changed lockdown rules earlier but anywhere else It was still in place on the 8th May.

That’s why I called you a nutter, because 4 weeks is a along time in a pandemic that has been around the world for more than 12 weeks outside of China.

Don't shoot the messenger but according to a couple of staff nurses I know who both work in different parts of the country tell me that Maybe the reason our numbers are high is that most deaths in both care homes and hospitals are still being recorded as covid related regardless of cause of death..
I also have it on good authority from a very trust worthy source that Barnsley general have closed their specific covid ward and nurses who volunteered to man them have returned back to their normal wards...
GPS are still not going out to sign death certificates or confirm actual death causes unless requested to do so by police...
So there's no way we can obtain a true figure...

Yep it’s all a fake. Doctors are putting COVID on every death certificate. So why have we been as much as 12k extra deaths a week or averaging 10k extra deaths a week through April.

Seriously again, I’d love it to be true, but my Cousins daughter works at BDGH, so I know that’s nonsense, and my next door neighbour who we shop for is the senior Covid nurse at Donny Royal Infirmary and they are reporting more cases and more people on ventilators that they have for weeks.

so no offence but your nurses around the country is just meme nonsense.

For what it’s worth, the nurse from BDGHs mum and sister both are CoViD positive.

So can we stop this 3 nurses from around the country boll0cks. I’m trying to get my Mrs through her Gran having COVID in a care home at 92 as it is.

Because an arrogant arsehole decided the rules didn't apply to him got busted by an OAP and now his dim witted boss needs to divert our attention away from what an utter **** up they've made of this.

Barnsley currently has the highest amount of new coronavirus cases in Yorkshire, so I doubt BDGH have closed their COVID ward.

Same nurse has I've stated also told me that the powers that are at bdg are up in arms about the false reporting of new cases and deaths that are claimed by the press.. They the press are not reporting how many have walked away having fully recovered ... However believe it or not it's totally true bsly have shut their covid ward at the dg hospital

What you mean they are up in arms about the number of new cases and death figures thst the media report after they are given them by the government on live TV and have NHS written all over them. So they are disputing the figures supplied by an organisation they are part of drawn up from data they supply. -So your claiming BDGH management are saying their figures for deaths and new cases are lower than those stated by the NHS . So why aren't they screaming about that in the media then.
