It would help matters if the club knew what the future plans for fans being allowed back were. Then they would be able to sell passes with the incentive of if you are one of the first 'insert number allowed' who renew it guarantees you're in the ground for every game and if you are after that number you go on a waiting list and get a chance if someone can't go.
We're really talking about next season here, so given the numbers who are wavering or out and out not renewing, the problem might not be as big as it would seem.
Sounds like ******** to me. Track and trace would be interesting at say Old Graffled where you could potentially have to track and trace 15000 individuals and their families. So one game - ine inflection with maybe 40000 tests needed.
If you leave every other row clear that’s 1 in 2 gone. If you assume two per household attend and sit together and leave two seats either side that’s 1 in 4 gone. Still got challenges with toilets and entering/exiting though. Shouting / singing isn’t great for transmission either.
So even though i plan on renewing within the early bird parameter i would be behind someone who gets paid on the 22nd because i get paid on the 28th. Ludicrous idea
Because you would be legitimately denying someone the right to enter a game they have already paid for based on the fact they might not have to choose to renew for next season.
why not? only fair way to do it imho ok look at it this way. several hundred people have already renewed when the climate was"you might not get to a game to a while" - ok people still renewed (like me). in a few weeks the climate changes to "25% of the stadium will be allowed to be filled" - so those that held off renewing - now start renewing. meaning we have a full allocation of ST holders, how do you decide who is in the 25% allowed in the stadium? well to start with those that renewed first when they were not guaranteed football, but they still stumped up £249 quid. - like i say only fairest way to do it.... I, along with all those already renewed, would be miffed if i didn't get in
Doesn’t give you anymore right than anyone else that’s already paid for this season in my eyes. Just my opinion of course. Ps. You’ll still get in next season. Maybe.
Personally if that’s the method I would chose from longevity of a season ticket holder first. You didn’t renew for next season hoping to get in for this one.
Renewed the earliest last season for this current one? Seriously, you take all the over 60s and shielding categories out and it will probably be 4000 left.
True capacity of ground without SYP getting involved with their ludicrous segregation policy would be nearer 23000 than 20000 so 1/5 capacity ought to be around 4600. Not sure we’ll sell that many to be fair. If we do then only fair way to do it would be for all of us to miss 3 or 4 games (or how ever many it would need) each. I intend to renew in the next week or so but when I do I don’t expect any priority over someone who chooses to renew in July or August. People’s ability to pay or inclination to renew immediately shouldn’t give them any priority in my mind.
No the current season will be finished with no fans. But when we are allowed fans again for our league one campaign those who took the risk of not seeing a game next season by pumping much needed cash in to the club as early as they possibly could should of course get priority.
