Does anyone have any ex Barnsley players that you really wanted to succeed, but ultimately they didn't end up being much good?

Any favourites who possibly didn't cut it...

For me, I really liked Peter Rajczi and Miguel Mostto. I always felt that Mostto had a touch of class but just wasn't a good fit for the english game.

Chris Dagnall. I think he was a good striker. It's just he seemed to find an outstretched arm or post a bit too often for my liking.

Mate I think we'd be able to chat for hours on BFC and agree on almost everything.

I thought Krizan was more talented than people give him credit for and was just coming in to form before that last injury. Rajczi was a better footballer than Ferenci, but didn't quite make it. Mostto was ruined by Simon Davey playing him up front on his own away at Newcastle - think it was the league cup - but I reckon he'd have scored goals in a better side.

Corbo was another one i loved. What a ball for Dyer's goal against Wednesday.

According to stats I've just looked at, he played 5 games for us. Only one I can remember him playing in is a friendly at Chesterfield when they opened their new stadium and I think he scored.

Sean McClare. Part of the team that hammered Huddersfield 7-1 and should have had a hattrick on top of the goals we scored. Played a number of good games, scored some goals. I thought he was going to be great.

Stuart Rimmer - got in some good positions but pretty much fluffed every one-on-one chance he was given. Had a decent record before and after joining, just did nowt for us.

Quick mention in dispatches for Mateo Corbo.

He was unlucky. Dave Bassett didn't fancy him for some reason.

Great in the build up, in possession, great feet, just lacked composure in front of goal.

Not a player but manager... Nigel Spackman... Ahead of his time in many ways. Gutted when it all went wrong.... I remember thinking at the time that we had got ourselves a good catch...and that he'd been treated shabbily at sheff utd if memory serves me right....
I once remember him saying in an interview many years later that he had never got any money to spend when he was managing us
