Don’t like football anymore. Don’t like where I live anymore. Don’t like this country anymore (mostly because of the sh.ite weather). Don’t like watching the tele especially the news anymore. Is anyone else feelIng like this ??? Just want to get on a plane and emigrate to a warmer more friendly country. Probably Goa.
It’s all proper India. Thing about Goa is that it’s Christian so you have more of a western feel eg proper bars. Which is great - but yer don’t get the razzle of the Hindu places where there’s loads of festivals and elephants and things. Best country in the world. People. Weather. Spiritual. Wildlife. Food.
Goa is full of beach front 5 star hotels surrounded by extreme destitution. Beautiful scenery though if you are able to see past the families living in crinkly sheds.
Man wants to go to Goa in India because it’s like home not that India that’s Indian. Nothing to see here move on move on.
Goa is about as representative if India as Bali is to Indonesia. Very distinct culturally and politically and a great place to visit but almost another country in itself.
I'm sure there will be. There will be an ex-pat bar where lots of english people sit and complain about the heat whilst eating their english breakfast and supping john smiths.
You’re mixing it up with Tenerife. I was in South Goa in January. There ain’t no English breakfasts or John Smiths there cocker.
Been - and hope to be going again as soon as this palaver is over. Stayed in Baga about 10 years ago. Been about 7 times to India but this will only be 2nd time in north Goa. Looking at Candolim or over the bridge in Nerul next time.
Careful Nudge don’t let your actual experiences get in the way of what others have read about online.
You see similar things when travelling in a lot of the developing world. It's quite difficult to deal with for me. Cambodia was definitely challenging from that point of view. Amazing place though.
