    It’s all proper India.
Thing about Goa is that it’s Christian so you have more of a western feel eg proper bars.
Which is great - but yer don’t get the razzle of the Hindu places where there’s loads of festivals and elephants and things.
    Best country in the world.

Goa is full of beach front 5 star hotels surrounded by extreme destitution. Beautiful scenery though if you are able to see past the families living in crinkly sheds.

Goa is about as representative if India as Bali is to Indonesia. Very distinct culturally and politically and a great place to visit but almost another country in itself.

I'm sure there will be. There will be an ex-pat bar where lots of english people sit and complain about the heat whilst eating their english breakfast and supping john smiths.

You see similar things when travelling in a lot of the developing world. It's quite difficult to deal with for me. Cambodia was definitely challenging from that point of view. Amazing place though.

South Africa the same. Shanty towns that look like a scrap heap for derelict garden sheds. Sobering.
