Freedom to live and work within the EU.

That's just one in a long list, but it's one more than you've been able to provide so I can leave it there and still 'win'.

We were propping the EU up financially and MPs were gaining financially from being in

I see what you say about making deals with other countries but we trade mostly with the EU don't we? I reckon both the EU and the UK would like a good deal but unfortunately the EU can't be seen to give a good deal for fear of encouraging others to leave and the UK government won't accept any ties to the EU because you would ask why have we left? 5hit pies all round for tea I reckon.

Trade with the EU has been declining for years, think last year total trade with the EU(goods and services) was under 14% of our GDP. Just 7.7% of GDP was for goods.

Why won’t they give us a standard FTA then. We have a massive £72billion Trade deficit with the EU. They don’t want us on their doorstep making FTA’s all round the world, not sticking to EU rules on fair competition.

The EU, taken as a whole is the UK's largest trading partner. In 2019, UK exports to the EU were £300 billion (43% of all UK exports). UK imports from the EU were £372 billion (51% of all UK imports). ... The UK had a trade surplus of £46 billion with non-EU countries.... but still eh. blue passports.

Pontyrich 14% of our GDP is absolutely huge. Colossal. It makes complete sense to prioritise trade with our neighbours over others (if you believe that being in the EU somehow sacrificed trading further afield!).

The situation described above might unfortunately be accurate - our trade with the EU is going to be harmed, and it's us that will suffer. Higher prices, business harmed and jobs lost.

Trading further afield will be damaged too - we had collective bargaining power as an EU member, and that allowed us to trade on better terms. I'm pretty concerned about whatever's going to happen with our trade deal with the USA.

The only thing I see is thus, free from the EU to become America's bitch gimp.

We can all throw figures about Pompey. I was asked why I voted for Brexit, I give my reasons, then get the usual s.hite from Pompey,Churton, Fonzie. Every time someone disagrees with the masses.

    • UK’s trade SURPLUS with the non-EU world: +£46.0bn
    • This increased by 27.1% in 2019 alone
    • UK’s trade DEFICIT with the EU27: £71.9bn
    • This worsened by 8.9% in 2019 alone
    • UK exports of goods and services to the (non-EU) world: £398.3bn
    • Annual growth in non-EU exports: +10.7%
    • Non-EU exports: 57% of total, and growing fast
      • Exports of goods and services to the EU27: £300.3bn
      • Annual growth in EU27 exports: +1.2%
      • EU exports: 43% of total, and falling

Plus there is a strong Democratic pro-Irish lobby ready to throw a spanner into the works of any deal that threatens the Good Friday agreement.

You’re considering a scenario where we don’t have a trade deal with the EU, at all, and you’re celebrating that? No trade deal with the huge block of countries geographically closest to us.

    these were your given reasons

    1. Not paying astronomical fees to be a member of the EU.
    2. We can make trade agreements with anyone we want without asking the EU.
    3. We’ll have a say on who fishes in our waters, at the same time as managing our waters for future sustainability(ie not allowing EU super trawlers to just suck it all up)

on these points seeing as they were your reasons for leaving the EU.

    1. we get it back , especially areas such as ours that are left underfunded by our own government.
    2. We already had the best free trade agreement with our nearest trading partners and deals around the world which produced a trade surplus.
    3. we already did. our MEP elected to represent us went to loads of meetings... oh wait he didn't. but anyway we sell 80% of UK caught fish to direct to the EU and have a say on who fishes here, as we did around Europe.

Those reasons eh. we've been around the buoy more times than i care to remember on here so dont worry too much about it. one of your mates will be along to like your posts soon.

I know what you're saying, but we genuinely haven't. Until December 31 of this year, the UK will continue to follow all of the EU's rules and its trading relationship will remain the same. We're in the 'transition' period apparently.
