You've had over half an hour to digest his post and counter his points. This is the best you've got? And you wonder why people take the piss out of the Brexiteers.
Ok then: 1/ we get it all back anyway eh? Do we, think you’ll find we get around half of it back. 2/ we already have the best free trade deal eh? How’s it free, we pay billions for the privilege(yes, we get some back) and have to abide by certain rules that’s out of our control. 3/ so Farage is at fault for the EU’s CFP eh? really is that what you’re saying? Look, I’ve given some reasons why I voted, Obviously you don’t agree.
Farage and his Fascists purposely made our position within the EU worse. Purposely set out to damage the UK and the people he was elected to represent. He’s a traitor. Simple as that.
He's clever though. He's managed to con these people into voting with him, for something that will ultimately hurt and hinder them, but help him. He also took a fat salary for being an EU MP didn't he? That he never turned up for.
facts. You didn’t like them earlier it seems you are still averse now. 1. I didn’t say we get it all back. We don’t. We get far more than half however. 2. Yes a free trade deal. Trade moves freely across borders. That’s different to free / paying for something. You do understand that right? And those rules, we set and agreed them of course they are under our control. 3. We elected someone to do their best for this country, “your country” we had equal voting rights and a voice. The fish you hold so dear are in the main exported to the EU. I’m sure our fisherman would love control of the water without a market to sell the fish to. Anyways that’s the last. Keep fighting the good fight, there will be someone else to blame soon. These days eh Stu.
Not really is it dek. You know what the Venn diagram will look like...a big overlap between white lives matter and brexiteers.
I personally know lots of friends who have lost their jobs because of brexit. Even more who have left the UK, not all Europeans returning home, mostly academics flooding out of the UK to follow the research funding and collaborative links. I don't know anyone who has benefited. Except the Rees Moggs of this world. The EU set minimum standards, we were always free to apply higher standards. 90% of the time we voted for EU laws. The only reason for being 'independent' is to have the opportunity to lower environmental standards, employment rights, health and safety..... Bring it on. We gained much more research funding than we put in. Our research drives our economy in the modern technology driven world. Four years on and I still struggling to explain to my international friends why we voted for this crap. It has been so damaging to our international reputation. We are a laughing stock.
Brexit has already almost cost the economy as much as all of our membership payments combined since the 70s. (1) The EU is 16% of the entire world's GDP; it's right on our doorstep, and not only did we have a trade agreement - we had completely free trade. The fishing industry makes up 0.12% of the British economy. It's literally a drop in the ocean. (2) They're facepalming, not shitting themselves. The EU brought peace to Europe, freedom for you to visit, work in, or move to any of dozens of countries, and negotiating power with the big boys. If we're looking for a trade deal with the US or China etc, we're going to get bullied into unfavourable terms because we need it more than they do. As part of the EU, we're part of a large bloc that can throw its weight about and get the best deal for its citizens. Not everyone is quite as negative as you though....Peter Wittig, former German Ambassador to the UK wrote an article last week in Der Spiegel "Wittig : I think the government has set the course. Now she still has to clarify how she wants to continue on this path. This will not be made easier by the severe recession that is now coming from the corona pandemic. But we shouldn't look down on Britain too smugly. Make no mistake, this is a country with an incredibly innovative spirit and a great willingness to take risks. He will certainly face difficult years, but I do not believe in Britain's natural decline, not even after the final exit from the EU." https://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausl...annien-a-0e50fbd5-de82-4b1a-b7cc-eef28f56577c An article by Romaine Leicke Europe Can’t Afford to Alienate the UK An Essay by Romain Leick With its tough and defiant approach to the United Kingdom, Europe is partly responsible for the country’s departure from the EU. But as it enters a post-Brexit era, it can’t afford to keep Britain at a distance. 31.01.2020, 18.03 Uhr " If the UK were to really turn its back on Europe, if it is driven into isolation by trade diktats from Brussels, then European geopolitics would have to be completely reimagined. The Continent would no longer be able to count on a disgruntled Britain – which remains the second-largest military and economic power in Europe – to stay engaged in the defense of Europe’s eastern flank in Poland and the Baltics. It would lose an ally with nuclear deterrent capabilities and with a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. A severely weakened Europe would remain held back as a world power-wannabe."
Tim Tams. You must've missed Boris's speech. Oh and vegemite. And an extra three hundred and fifty mi... on no, wait.. Tim Tams.
