Yes, of course it in (sic) but trying to compare it to the systematic plundering of the country's economy for their own personal gain is laughable, if not unsurprising...
This is how low we’ve sunk. One Tory in this thread satisfied that he ‘looked like’ he ‘tried’ to not be corrupt (ps the number of people that clearly understand Johnson has done such a terrible job that the only defence they have is ‘he’s trying his best’ like a student that can’t quite get a high enough score on his maths homework is disgusting), the other bringing up a totally separate issue and within his own post saying that said labour mp had been rightly punished as opposed to here where no action has or seemingly will be taken. For the record I also think Eric Illsley’s actions were reprehensible, and it was correct he was punished (imagine that, not ignoring appalling moral transgressions because you’ve decided you support your political party like a football team!). Your turn.
You dont understand degrees of offence then. Maybe next time a Tory is accused of murder he can claim in mitigation a former labour MP lied about a speeding fine. Of course fiddling expenses is wrong and should be dealt with but the cost to the country is a few thousand pounds at worst To be the minister responsible for illegally forcing a planning decision to push through a development with less social housing than anyone thinks is reasonable to benefit a tory party donor with the double benefit to them of being able to sell more expensive houses and not pay for any of the infrastructure needed - costing the local borough at least 40 million pounds and giving them a development against the wishes of everyone involved is a totally different level. If you cant see the difference you should be classified as too stupid to vote
PS IIRC Ilsley got a 12 month prison sentence and rightly so - so what do you suggest the punishment for Jenrick?
Mmm you like a really polite scammer eh could you please pretty please pm me your credit card number and pin in case I sell you something sometime in the future ? I would be very grateful thank you very much and please take care .
This is a thread about Jenrick. If you want to start one about Illsley or about the wider issue of corruption in politics, please do so. Alternatively, if you have a view that either supports or criticises Jenrick, then that would be readable too. An impartial factual response or opinion piece on the actual subject in question would also be fine. Even a humourous, snappy one-liner would be ok. With so many angles and options to go for, your actual response is somewhat disappointing.
Democracy for all - if you want anything done just go to your local tory fundraising dinner - direct from another government minister Its taking corruption to a new artform. After all anyone can go its only £15,000.00 per table
