White and Clark at the football club. I've always had a great deal of affection towards Whitey (and his family). He's a thoroughly decent bloke and it's a pleasure to know him. In turn, Whitey got his colleague at the club, Andy Clark, to talk me step by step through the ifollow system. He highlighted the problem areas, solved them and enabled this old Neanderthal to negotiate through and finally get set up. In my opinion, they've both gone above and beyond to help me and I really do appreciate it. Once again, thank you gentlemen.
It was quite funny reading your posts last week. For one of the more rational posters on here (it’s all relative) you were in a proper meltdown. Glad to hear you are all sorted and ready for the game on Saturday.
Ooh, I can do a pathetic, childish hissy fit as well as anyone. Drama Queen doesn't do me justice. Playground Tantrums R Us.
Wish I'd known they were so helpful - I had to spend a 30 minute zoom session with my Dad getting him setup - I should have just told him to get in touch with the club rday lunchtime by post and he couldnt even create an account at the time ( due to ifollow issues not finger trouble ) I did find Zoom has a really useful feature - as well as screen sharing you can also give control so both of you can move the mouse or type so next time Dad has a problem with his laptop as long as he has internet and his zoom is working I can help out much easier than trying to just do it by phone with no idea what he is actually doing
The next step is getting the game on the TV. I used to use HDMI PC to TV but now you can use a smart TV and Amazon silk browser to play the stream direct on the TV. That’s the IT challenge for the next game!
I'm certain the phone call this morning counts towards Andy's 'Care In The Community' work, old mate!
tell me about it , I remember a certain day in Liverpool..............................................
Yeah, so can I. After getting you a ticket, your way of thanking me was to tell me you'd picked them up as we were getting off the coach (something else I'd arranged). By the time we'd got to the turnstile, you informed me that you'd only bothered to pick up yours. Then, in an 'act' of contrition, you went back to pick up the other ticket. As a footnote, who got you a ticket for the Chelsea match? Who got you a ticket for Wembley? Who got you a coach ticket for Wembley? Unlike you, I thought of someone else rather than just me.
I tried that with Firefox last week and all I got after trying to log in was a white screen. Could you download the App onto the Smart TV and go that route?
My understanding is that the only browser that will work is Silk. You also need to make sure you are running the Desk top version which is accessible through an icon on the top of the page. I’m no IT expert but once I’d downloaded Silk using the fire stick it was straightforward enough.
