Until people stop saying "Is this needed" it should be continued.

Your uneducated and antiquated post shows that yes, it is needed.

few years ago my eldest daughter (white) had a boyfriend (black) - he lived in Huddersfield and because of his colour was scared to come to Barnsley centre - when he came to our house we would meet him off the bus in Darton and take him to Darton for his return journey.
My son was beaten up one night in town because his sister was a ****** *****.
On one occasion when boyfriend and group of black friends came to our house neighbour phoned police because they feared a terrorist attack!
So daughter and boyfriend left Barnsley .

The most racist place in this country is the Boardroom of Clubs/Factories/Offices/Organisations. Until BAME people are in positions of management things will not change.
The biggest racists are the 'hidden' ones - those with the power to hire and fire because at present they aint hiring the black guy.
How can this be rectified - one way is by positive discrimination - if a BAME person can do the job he/she should have the job. Perhaps the white person should withdraw from the interview if a BAME person is also being interviewed for the job.
    -----------------------
The BLM movement is important and one I support but at present it is only in its infancy. And of course the racists the 'white supremacists' are happy with it as it is because it doesn't really threaten them. Let's hope the BLM develops into say a Black Lives into Management movement.

    Wow.
Some of my close and many extended family members are mixed race. I share your experience a little regarding your daughter but this was in the mid 80s when our families first came together.
I'm not so sure about your stance on jobs though. I've been on interview panels and It's been done on a points system. The people who had good interviews got the job irrespective of background or ethnicity. So if a nurse from Zimbabwe had the best interview she or he would get the job. We are a real multi-cultural bunch in the nhs though.
% of population there are high numbers of staff from Africa, South East Asia, Eastern Europe and lots of other places.

In the late 70's I worked for a company who ran "pop up" clearance goods, basically rent a vacant property jam it in and close after 6 to 8 weeks ...move on..
One such was on Manningham lane Bradford, a very predominantly Asian area, being Barnsley born and bred in the 50's I had little or no contact with anyone who didn't look like me but found the locals fine and didn't have any issues..............until I caught one of the locals stealing.
I went for my sandwiches as usual the day after to be told by the girl that they would prefer me not to go in the shop, I had a word with the owner who agreed if I stayed out they would bring them across, he also let slip that this was due to a local gang who were talking revenge. I pointed out that I was following the company line on theft but to no avail.
Later that day I was visited by the CID who said what time do ya finish. I replied 5 and they said stay in the shop and we'll pick you up and take you to the bus because we heard they will be waiting for you.....so I did as told
The day after I had a visit from the heads of the local community who gave me a number and said if anyone is out of line ring us, I mentioned the gang threats and they said they would deal with it but if possible I would be better not going back. I discussed with my boss and was sent elsewhere....but in effect lost the job.
Was it Racist ??? you decide..by the way in later life I did interviews to Management level and using the points system the best person got the job..

    tbh I'm not sure.
If you were going to get smacked because you were white and no other reason then it's a racist attack.
If you were going to be smacked because you'd reported someone then it could be argued that race didn't come into it therefore it wouldn't be a racist attack.

Do you put sheep's heads in people's beds instead of horses?

I like to have a bit of a look on other team's forums before matches. Admittedly this feels like an easy win because it's Millwall, but have a look at this thread and tell me that statements like this aren't needed. The more that scum like this are reminded of how far away from the mainstream they are the better, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree - the NHS - a massive organisation - has a good reputation for fairness - and it's processes are transparent.
The problem may be in smaller firms/organisations.
My concern about the BLM movement is that we undoubtedly show that Black Lives Matter but the issue of creating a situation where black lives may be improved is overlooked.
There is a danger that we support BLM on our terms. We could be charged with patronising Black people.
We may be 'taking the knee' next to a PC - we don't know if that PC is an overly keen on stop and search.
We support Burnley FC re the 'white banner' but do we know if the club employs people of a BAME background?

My thinking was that the BLM needs a focus and I thought a focus on getting BAME people into management was a step in the right direction. At least hopefully something positive will come out of the BLM movement.

Sorry mate I know what you mean but I would be totally against the job thing.
I have always believed it should be the best person for the job, irrespective of race, sex, creed or whatever, and in my experience there is always one person who has the edge. In fact I read an interview with Keith Curle the other day where he said personally he would hate it and feel insulted if he was offered a job just to tick a box

In Tomitoul in the Cairngorms you can buy Sheepshaggers Gold Beer. (telling you this is a tad O/T)

more to the point there's a shop in Brecon close to the Brecon Beacons which sells a sh-sh-ing kit - we don't need horses - Kit comprises a pair of green (no other colour) wellingtons. They have to be 'wide-legged' if you know what I mean otherwise they're not fit for purpose.
Also in the kit is a pair of velcro gloves - generally a good time is had by all - including the sheep.
N.B. due to cofid (correct spelling as there is no 'v' in Cymraeg) 19 all sh*** sh****** activity has been suspended.
Although a 'friend' tells me there is a thriving black market in er blow up sheep - best advised to do the blowing at the sheeps front end.
Myfanwy runs the service - easily to trace spends her time strumming her harp and can be heard for miles around.
    (Can't believe I've just typed this - but hey-ho!)

I know this is the least important thing about that post but I had no idea that ballet shoes were meant to be skin colour. I thought that was just a random colour that was supposed to match the dress or something

Sometimes they are, more so for nationals and for characters. Otherwise, ballet is very much judged on the physical form, long legs, long graceful necks etc.

The idea that all white people should refuse jobs if any black person applies is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.
