That's a yellow card offence. Use of the word "massive" in connection with any club other than Wednesday.
can I say 'I hope the MASSIVES have a MASSIVE points deductions and they end up in a MASSIVE mess. i.e. MASSIVE(LY) fkd !!?? yellow card rescinded?
10 interested parties according to the administrators. Just looking at that loan agreement who in their right mind signed that off, surely got be fraud. Whoever wants to buy the club is going to have to stump up well over 30m to pay off the loan and whatever else comes out of the woodwork. Then there's the football debts and day to day stuff so could be closer to 50m. Who is going to stump up that for a club that only averages 7-8k fans in what is essentially a rugby town Just found this interesting piece, if this is true then THE EFL need disbanding and investigating as they are not fit for purpose
Very little sympathy & none at all for the fans that mocked us over the Kieffer Moore transfer. They’ve got 3 players who played for us in Moore, Williams & Morsy who are all in great form & are players I’d love here but because of their reckless spending we can’t afford them. Looking at the table above Reading are also a ticking time bomb. I had to laugh when I heard Jaap Stam a while back discussing his time at a club who have a similar sized fan base to ourselves saying that the reason things went wrong in his second season with them was that they didn’t buy any new players to freshen it up despite spending a fortune in his first season. Compare that to Barnsley managers who’s biggest hope in the transfer window is that they don’t lose their best players
The EFL really need to start asking questions about transfer dealings. Sheff Wednesday’s an obvious basket case, the Winnall one always makes me laugh. Brought in as 5th / 6th choice striker on 18k a week. Rhodes, Forestieri, Hooper & Fletcher all believed to be earning 30k plus a week. It’s madness. This is a club with no parachute payments. That Bereton who got sent off against us the other day cost £7m & he’s not even starting for Blackburn. Imagine us spending £7m & having the player sat on the bench? This is a club with similar crowds to ourselves who were in league one a couple of seasons ago. Again, no parachute payments. It’s madness.
Well if Wigan needed the money https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12010384/crime-bosses-nicked-cops-crack-system/
It would make for a good Netflix documentary series if it's found that the owners bought Wigan to purposely relegate them to pay off gambling debts.
Not sure. If the EFL were aware or suspicious about any bets being placed then surely they can't deduct the points
They have to though. If they don't, imagine what a can of worms that would open up. "We've gone into admin, but you can't dock us points as we've had a large bet on us being relegated."
I know what are saying but a can of worms has already been opened up. If this is a massive scam/fraud then there are mitigating circumstances and the administrators will appeal on the basis that a criminal act has taken place.
Can't see it being true but nothing in football surprises me. He could've placed the bet in August and sold off all valuable players in January to make it more likely. Seems a weird way to go about it.
Sheffield Wendy They’ll be waiting to see where they finish in league before deciding . Imo if they finish way above relegation they’ll get a big points reduction to finish just above relegation hence making out EFL are tough. If they don’t amass a lot of points above relegation they’ll get a few points deduction enough to just finish above relegation and a fine , Hence still making EFL look tough . Job done . Don’t know what’s happened there I posted this in the SWFC thread ??
It doesn't quite make sense, if he's putting a big bet on them to go down and he owns a bookies called KB88, he wouldn't put the bet on at KB88 as they'll now have to pay out to him so he will lose money from KB88. Of course, it could be part of a money laundering scam but there's a lot easier ways to money launder than to rely on relegating a football club by placing it into admin.
