I think boro will stay up with Colin at the helm, so I’d sooner them win tonight’s game.

A draw not disastrous, a Hull win the worst of the three options.

    Anyone think different?

Draw or a Middlesbrough win. With it being a straight shoot-out between us Hull City, Luton and Stoke City to get away from the bottom two places. (I'm taking it for granted that Wigan won't win 4 matches).

Wigan don't necessarily need to win 4 matches....they only need to pick up four more points than the team that finish third bottom.

0-0 and both sides docked 6 points for crowd trouble ;-)

It's as straightforward as that....to repeat it....if Wigan gain four more points over the last 6 games than whichever team finishes third bottom they will stay up....and bearing in mind they are equal second in the form table for the last six games they could well do it.

They need to amass 12 more points. The points come off at the end of the season.

No they don't...to illustrate it....imagine if the bottom three don't get another point....Wigan only need a win and a draw to stay up.

Which would mean they've amassed 12 more points that three other sides over the course of the season. I assume your point is, they've already got an 8 point start on winning those points, so need to gain another 4 on everyone?

On the topic, agree that Boro won't go down under Warnock, so a comfortable win for them to keep Hull down there and damage the GD would be my preference.

    Bang on....and the form they're in suggests it's doable...unfortunately.

Totally agree Troff. A real good pasting for Hull tonight will damage their confidence for their run in.
