https://start.ticketco.events/uk/blog/clyde-fc-to-launch-cashless-stadium-technology-with-ticketco/ It's going to be the way of the word using false information about cash passing on Covid to allow a cashless society. A future where every single thing you ever purchase is known by your bank who can sell on your details to a third party to make money from you. Big brother watching us all, knowing our shopping habits and bombarding us with stuff we aren't interested in. Gone the days of chucking a coin to a busker, giving a pound to an homeless person or putting money in a birthday or christmas card.
Cash passing on Covid is common ******* sense, not ‘false information’ Cashless/contactless means nothing is handed between people at all. That’s better. There’s no need for cash. If you’re worried about your bank knowing what you buy, maybe you need to rethink what you buy.
Since the end of February the only time I have used cash is to put some money under the lads pillow as the Tooth Fairy (please don't let on). The world has not come to an end.
I don't think I've withdrawn cash since the first week of March and that was for a taxi fare. If I can pay that by card when I start using them again I doubt I would use cash for much of anything.
It's the direction of travel in this country and has been for some time. I still use cash but I no longer carry as much as I used to and I always carry a card for when I can't use it.
It's just two weeks. It's just non-essential businesses. It's just to keep from overwhelming the hospitals. It's just until cases go down more. It's just to keep others from being scared. It's just for a few more weeks. It's just singing. It's just until we get a vaccine. It's just a few side effects. It's just a bracelet. Its just a mask. It's just to let people know you're safe to be around. It’s just a few more months. It’s just until it’s safe. It's just a credit card company. You can use cash. It's just a few places that don't take cash. It's just a little chip. It’s just for medical information & paying for things. It’s just so you can travel. It’s just so you can get your driver’s license. It’s just so you can vote. It's just a statue. It's just a building. It's just a song. It’s just a piece of paper. It's just a flag. It's just a piece of cloth.
Mixed feelings on the world going cashless, though all the world will be like that soon enough. I like to think I'm pretty sensible with money, and that was taught to me by my parents and having actual pocket money as a child/teen. It's easier to learn and manage. When it's an invisible currently, that goes to pot and you lose control. I was in my mid 20s when I got my first credit card and it's a sure way to debt. I only got it for the airmiles, but it isn't long before the bills add up. For this reason, I used to be of the opinion that credit cards shouldn't exist and if you can't afford it, you can't have it (exceptions being for purchasing a house, car, or things for your kids). However, to contradict myself (and to get somewhere near topic), I can't stand not being able to buy some food at Oakwell on a Tuesday night when I've rushed from work and only just made kick off so don't have time to loop the loop trying to find a cash machines in town.
