Couldn’t give a fk either way tbh, absolutely no intention of going anywhere near one for a long while.
Has the new law actually been published yet - I saw that Devon and Cornwall police were initally informed there was to be a 2 hour drinking limit but then got send a corrected version But as far as I know the law hasnt yet been formally passed or published - still a few hours left yet - I mean who needs to know the law until 1 minute before it actually applies
It has to be a law otherwise if its just guidelines its not enforcable - what changes between now and this time tomorrow what happens if you open this evening that doesnt happen if you open tomorrow evening. If you can be prosecuted for opening today but cant be tomorrow there must have been a change in the law surely. what determines the processes you follow - There has to be something from government and its not just Boris going on the TV and making a statement
It's a lot easier if you just stay in a permanent state of outrage. There's always something if you look hard enough. Saves all that winding up and winding down malarkey.
The Coronavirus 2020 law will have the necessary clauses to cover pubs and other places being closed. It will need amending to allow them to open again, which requires it to go through Parliament or a Ministerial Statutory Instrument (SI).
Well the assumption in the trade has been that from midnight tonight everything reverts to how it was. Nobody was waiting for any laws to be amended, to your point. I know that they do, but only in the event that pubs are being 'turned back on' rather than being opened under different laws.
The government has clarified its position on that: Pubs in England will not be allowed to open until 06:00 BST on Saturday, No 10 has confirmed.
Staggered drinking times. Get up At 5am, pub at 6, stagger home at 11, before the real idiots come out.
Just think of almost everything this ***** govt says and/ or does and hey presto you’re back on track
I fully expect Wetherspoons to have reached maximum capacity by 8:15am. There may already be a queue forming, like for Wimbledon tickets.
