He's done a Dean Hoyle by boosting his bank account by cashing in on the star players and replacing them with cheaper players or loans.

Bit harsh that seeing as he wiped out the 35 million debt when he took over and injected another £10 million last season.
Quoted as having put £137 million into club so far.

I kind of liked him...bright and intellegent and full of ideas. Unfortunately his sum is greater than his parts, he has now tried a bigger more cash rich oppertunity and ultimately failed.
It could be argued his tactics were flawed in div 1 with us, even with decent players, it took adam hamill and a forced change in formation to make him succesful with us.
I didnt mind him leaving tbh and we did ok without him, im sure he will find more work.

Surely it’s the wages? Forget transfer fees. He’s got a squad full of proven championship players, many of them are proven names at this level. The wages must be massive

Last books showed an increase of 12% in wages with an average of £13.5 k, but you will be able to almost guarantee it will have gone up.
Interestingly if you look closer at their set up it appears they are probably a better role model for what our owners want to achieve as they have spent significantly on improving the surrounding area to create more commerciality and whilst that investment has come at some cost it is now the second highest generator in the Championship for non football related revenue (£16 million) and if you take out Parachute payments are 4th overall including football revenue.
But despite this they still need player trading to generate a profit.

Not a bad shout, always liked Gareth Ainsworth and as you say he's done a good job with Wycombe.

I seem to recall someone on here saying the other day that Chris Hughton has also been linked with the job.

To be fair he has received as much if not more in transfer fees for players sold from under him. Not sure why so many are so bitter towards lee jay.

I hate the person. Simply for dropping George Waring. If that wasn't enough, he thought Jabo Ibahre was a proffesional footballer.

like my beer I’m not bitter. My point being yes they’ve sold a few but it wasn’t as though he couldn’t buy, or he only spent pennies buying.

I was glad he left - he's fvcking useless - but the way he left is the reason I despise him.

He deserved to be sacked after losing four trillion games in a row, but Cryne refused to do it because he didn't want a man with a family to be unemployed close to Christmas.

As soon as he fluked a few results, he left. He owed us loyalty after getting the owner's backing when nothing he had done earned that backing.

    Hopeless dwarf snake cúnt.

I'm not a fan of his, but the one thing that seems to signify him as a coach is that his teams seem to have spells of either long unbeaten streaks, or long ones where he can't find a win. It happened with us, and subsequently a few times with Bristol City (not sure about Oldham, before us, but it wouldn't surprise me).

This, to me, sums up why I think he's a poor coach. When teams are winning, they thrive on their self-confidence, and don't really need a great deal of coaching influence. When they're on losing streaks, he seems unable to quickly inspire any change, hence they drag on and on.

He was floundering with us and only survived for as long as he did due to Cryne's loyalty, which he soon pissed on, after benefitting from the signing of Hammill. Hecky got that team promoted, and I doubt very much that it would have happened with LJ still there. Thankfully, we found someone who paid us compensation get rid of him.

He'll forever be the man who said Hourihane couldn't play in a 4-4-2, spent time working on how Winnall rotated his head, and condemned me to that piss-wet afternoon of misery at Altrincham. Oh, and not forgetting THAT slide, the presumed spoof which turned out to be genuine.

One of the most miserable days of my entire life.

Drying off in the car, I've never been more sure of anything that he would have been fired before we got home. Had I been a betting man, I'd have put my house on it.

I enjoyed it - we were *****, but I had a couple of nice beers in their club house and then sat in the home stand to watch the game. Their fans were no bother either, probably as they were pissing themselves at how ***** we were.

It certainly seems to me like after flirting with the play offs for a couple of years the board decided to back Johnson even more & get him some serious fire power with Afobe & Wells as well as the £5m french lad & Weimann that they already had.

They’ve sold a few players & getting about £20m for Webster was an incredible bit of business but he’s not had to buy untested novices like we did to replace the players that have left. £8m on Kalas who they’d already had on loan from Chelsea is a huge fee for a championship club with no parachute payments.

Yeah, Chairmen makes no secret of they have to trade players and see them as commodities(in fact he said it),but he’s certainly not sucking money out the club like some claimed.

I'm not sure about that. He was full of management speak buzzword ******** and said a lot without actually saying anything. If he were a tenth as intelligent as he thinks he is he'd be genius.
