Must win for me, can't rely on other results, especially when the games are against those directly around us.
Win = keeps us in with a decent shout Loss = realistically we are down Draw = leaves us hanging on by a gnats testicle
Need another 7 points at the very least to even stand a chance. Other than getting 3 tonight I’m struggling to think how we’d get those points from remaining games. Win or bust tonight for me.
If Leeds are champions by the time we play them then that should be an easy win. Likewise if Brentford are already promoted. So a win today and those two results equal the nine points we need!!
There’s a good chance both forest and Brentford will be resting players. they will be bound to do this given the fixture pile up, if their fate is settled by the time they play us. in lots of ways , as painful as it is, we could do with Brentford tailing off now and Leeds getting promoted quickly
Trying to put a positive slant on our situation, must be much worse being Middlesbrough/Hull. The pressure looking over your shoulder knowing every slip up could be the one that plunges you into relegation must be huge. I know it could be argued we are in it etc, but we are generally on a decent run of results recently (Sat aside) whereas they are the opposite.
Thing is, Brentford may well rest players but if they're in the playoffs they won't want to lose momentum by playing poorly against us. Plus I worry we too will need the rest by that last game if we've given out all up till then.
I impossible for Leeds to be Champions by time we play them and unless Brentford lose next two games and Leeds win they won’t even be guaranteed promotion by then.
Thanks for doing the maths for me. We played well against Leeds at Oakwell and Luton got a draw against them. Not impossible to get a result there I dont think and they too will be feeling nervy.
Not impossible but lightening unlikely to strike twice. Leeds battered Luton and missed a few sitters. Luton scored a worldy with one shot and even then only got a draw. We've done OK at Elland Road in the past but not with a team as poor as this.
Have to win simple as that, but with the shocking result at the weekend allowing a poor side in stoke climb away from us a bit even a win today may be too little too late. The Stoke game was the one we really really needed to win but blew it.
It's the biggest, most important, must win game since the last one. It'll also be the biggest, most important, must win game until the next one.
I’ve always had a feeling it would go to that game with us and them needing to win us to stay up and them for promotion.
