Surprising that Johnson is blaming others for his incompetence

The wonderful staff in care homes aren't to blame for a thing. But owners of private care homes should have done a better job at protecting their residents.

I'm not for a second suggesting some care home providers aren’t purely in it for financial gain over the care of their vulnerable residents but the care home issue on C-19 had nothing to do with owners, it was to do with this government telling the NHS not to help people over a certain age and to send them into Hospices or back into Care homes riddled with Covid.

My Wife’s Grandmother being one of them. 92 and has now had C19 twice and been sent from Hospital on at least 8 occasions back to the home. Unbelievably she’s still going but is getting weaker by the day.

I know that most hospitals had a DNR on anyone older than 65 because they were worried about not having enough beds to look after younger people, that’s why they were sending OAPs back to care homes.

In the end it looks like lockdown helped and the NHS wasn’t overrun but they still continued to farm OAPs to death camps whilst beds lay empty.

It comes to something when people were led to become more concerned about 'bankrupting the country/the make believe money tree' than they were enjoy the prospect of saving £30 a month on internet and that it was a positive step for their families.

Questions to be asked that need to be asked aren't there, not brushed off by the usual bluster and obfuscation.

It sounds like a very uncomfortable experience for your Wife's Grandmother. Best wishes to her and your family.

The NHS were told to stockpile PPE and equipment as part of planning for a pandemic a few years ago, they didn't then when a pandemic hit us PPE supplies were all diverted to the NHS where needed the most, anybody else trying to source PPE at that time could not get it, the failure to source and stockpile PPE by the NHS prior to pandemic (or finance available for this) was why care homes and others were left without.

Whilst hindsight is a wonderful thing, foresight is even better and to ignore the foresight is feckin ludicrous.

You couldnt believe what you were hearing? where have you been for the last year or so (or longer to be fair)
The thing that I find most depressing is I wasnt the least bit surprised - in fact I was waiting for him to come out with something along those lines
He got vote leave through on lies, he got elected on lies - why would he change now ?

The NHS also saw huge cuts during this time meaning they were unable to stock pile properly.

Saying something should happen then moving the goalposts seems quite regular for this government though.

I blame society. We knew before it hit how it was spread. Yet people still didn't was their hands and cover their faces when they coughed and sneezed. Ultimately it is our fault it spread so easily.

And now schools are the second biggest source of new infections - after care homes. How long before the teachers are blamed?

And at least 3 pubs have already had to shut again after confirmed cases - so landlords after that...
