Well, we’re more than likely done for and unlikely to get more than an optimistic 3 more points which won’t be enough but I’m gonna cling to hope (cos there’s f all to focus on football wise) and looking at the other fixtures and form think this may all go to the last day. Birmingham have gone and have 3 hard games on paper Boro note had the new manager bounce as much as they hoped Hull cant win Charlton form as gone and they appear to have issues at board level Luton in same boat as us also a couple of tough games Hudds form is very poor. Here’s my view on all but the reds: Luton to gain 5 more points draw with QPR, win against Hull, draw at Blackburn = 49pts Hull 1 point with a loss at Wigan, loss at Luton and a draw away at Cardiff = 46pts Charlton 4 points with a win at Birmingham, draw at Wigan and a loss at Leeds = 50pts Hudds 2 points with a draw at Swillsbro, draw at West Brom and defeat at Millwall = 49pts Boro 4 points with a win at Reading, loss at home to Cardiff and a draw at Swillsbro = 51pts Birmingham potentially no points losing at home to Charlton, away at Preston and home to Derby = 49pts Stoke to gain 5 more points with a win at Bristol, loss to Brentford and a draw at Forest = 54pts With no points deductions that would make bottom of table with Reds omitted look like this: Stoke 54 Boro 51 Charlton 50 Hudds 49 Birmingham 49 Luton 49 Hull 46 If Wigan and Pigs get their deductions they will be somewhere around the 49 points mark at best. Could all be down to GD at this rate bit of Sunday afternoon bluster for you ;-)
Still waiting for them to bottle it though. They've left it a bit late this season, but I'll still take it!
Can't you let me dream? I'm just glad that Elland Road will be empty of fans. Nobody in the country needs to be seeing ecstatic Leeds fans at a time like this.
Try living amongst millions of em! Although to be fair them that actually go are ok it's them who don't go who are worst!!!!
Nightmare. We have Villa fans down here instead (although I'm on the Blues side of town). Similar lines, but I don't find them quite as bad - generally a bit more self-deprecating I think.
Maybe but the teams just above only need a couple of draws to be out of site unless we win all three (oh no here I go again )
There is always hope, but after the surprising results of the three games post-lockdown, our form in the last three games has also been very poor (same as Hull, Hudds etc). 2 points out of a possible 9, one goal despite never looking like scoring.. And before the three games people were saying will 10 points be enough? We have managed 2 and now need to get something from Leeds, Forest and Brentford. I cant see it. Doesn't matter what other teams do really, we are the victims of our own ineptitude, despite the players working hard, and missed maybe the only chance we had at capitalising on the remaining games.
The next three games are daunting and I honestly can't see us getting another point but after fluffing our lines in the last three games could it be that the footballing gods will smile on us against Leeds and Forest and give us hope in our final game against Brentford?
I very much doubt it though admire your enthusiasm. I've seen some people writing off Brentford, saying they will be 'settling for the play offs'. Well, since the restart: Played 6, won 6. Scored 14 goals, conceded 2. Last game at Griffin Park. Even without the fans, I think we will be annihilated through the sheer quality and drive in their squad. Forest, bit shaky since the restart. A point at best but they will see it as a big opportunity to secure a play off place. Leeds.. no chance. Can't see us scoring another goal unfortunately, never mind winning a game.
Not sure where you’re aiming at here from our point of view? We will likely get 4 more points at the absolute best and even if it was 6 it still wouldn’t be enough. Whichever way you look at it we’re relegated and deservedly so. There aren’t any excuses....
Wouldn’t be their last game there if they only get the playoffs though would it? They are in fantastic form but if they are out of the running for automatic promotion they will surely rest players. Therefore playing players who hopefully wouldn’t be as sharp. Same with Forest if they’re hopefully wedged in the playoffs when we play them. Leeds I think we’ll get battered though.
