If anyone is intrested there's a Bearded Vulture out Langsett way, only the second one to be spotted in this country, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-53383387
About 20.30 this evening I was sat with a cuppa watching the world go in Cudworth... by just staring up into the sky looking at the cloud formations when I spotted a vey large bird riding the thermal currents drifting one way then the other... It must have been a big bugger because it was some distance away and yet I could see its out line watched it for a good 5minutes before it disappear and blended into the clouds 10 minutes later I saw it again... Chuff knows what it is but it was rather majestic and relaxing watching it make its way through the sky... Every now and again flexing its wings... But yes it was a big bugger.
Being in cudeth it would have to be common... to fit in lol...we don't have posh birds in cudeth ( only joking Ladies ) mind you one or two do get out of the bath to go to the toilet. Lol
I'm looking out for the Ghislainea Maxwellius, currently seen circling over The Royal Lodge, Windsor.
Plenty of photos and film clips on Twitter regarding the Lammergeier. Would love to see it myself but I’m not prepared to yomp miles over the moors to see it. It’s been seen in the Barnsley District today. For comparison. Common buzzard - 4 foot wingspan. Lammergeier - 9 foot wingspan.
Hope this isn't true & it's just buggered off somewhere else. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-53404425
