Me and Laura moved back in her with her mother and had Sky fitted at her mothers house. She is with Sky broadband and had a router. Sky told us we had to use her router and send ours back to them otherwise her mother would incur a disconnection charge. When the engineer came out the router her mother had wasn't strong enough to send a broadband signal all round the house and the engineer said it was crap. He told us to keep our box and send them her mothers old router back in the free post box they supplied. So that's what we did. Sky have just sent me a text saying they haven't received anything and that we will be charged if we don't send the router back. We would have sent ours back if the engineer hadn't said it was crap. Problem now is her mother's router is lost in translation. Anyone else had a problem like this?
I had the exact same thing when I swapped supplier, Sky sent the flat pack box that you build up around the equipment. Luckily where I work I've got into this habit of evidencing more or less all packages that we sort, so through this daft habit I'd took a picture of it boxed and the receipt from the post office. Despite showing sky this evidence they still sent me a bill to which we are both still in dispute over, but I haven't paid them. Rob dogs
Would the engineer have filed a report saying he couldn't get a decent signal and told us to keep our router? Wish I'd got the engineers details although surely they'll know the engineer.
They will have a copy of engineer who attended defo. I’d just tell them what happened and tell them to take up with Royal Mail. You have followed their process to the letter, if it has failed to arrive that is matter between them and their courier.
Don’t accept them saying you have to prove it was posted. Unless you was told to record it, just keep saying your process etc
We ordered something online, on the 24th June. It only just arrived yesterday. That's 3 weeks for a parcel to arrive (UK postage). Pathetic if you ask me, but you might want to give it a couple more weeks for the parcel to arrive
Cheers. I don't like the idea of the 033 phone number on my mobile either. I've got until the 24th August.
Talk talk said to send our router back, back in March when we switched to Virgin but nothing has come with details of how.
