    I don’t know about privatisation - but a country like Britain should have a better health system than we have.
    It dosen’t meet the needs of the people that use it - and it dosen’t respect the people that work in it.
    Obviously whichever way it goes it will need more money.

    If I was the EU, I'd be offering the UK what they want for fishing in return for access to sell into the NHS. After all, if its good enough for the USA...

    We had one of the best health systems in the world you silly sod.

    This government is ruining it on purpose.

    Even with complete mismanagement it still far out performs other countries. We are still 18th, we were in the top 5 before these tossers got hold of it.

    Be interesting to find out how many in the top 17 are 'free at the point of use' universal services or how much people in those countries contribute through taxation.
    I am in utter despair now at the running of our service within. No staff and morale the lowest I've ever known. There is no desire at all from within to provide us with even a minimum safe staffing quota. All these people would be appalled if you called them a tory. They are praised by our chief exec for cutting down on agency/Bank staff.
    Then of course we are working within the increasingly tight budgets that are dictated bt the government.
    So shafted from without and within.
    So sad.

    Most people just aren't proactive enough to stick up for the NHS. It's demoralizing but its very slowly being eroded, undermined, weakened and, in a few years, when people actually realize that its not available anymore it will be too late. People keep voting for its demise because they keep voting Conservative. They did it again last December. It's gutting.
