They cheated and will be punished. Not even the EFL will make themselves look even more pathetic by changing their own rules after the situation has happened. They won't risk a load of clubs purposely putting themselves in admin and arguing they can pay off debts on the cheap with no points deduction as Wigan didn't get one. And they can't risk next season being delayed even further by us appealing.
Just heard their manager on Sky and he was very complementary about us. Very sporting and seemed to accept us a championship side next year.

Just read it. I've no idea what has gone off with their change of ownership, but it sounds bizarre. Nevertheless they went into administration. Full stop. What really annoyed me though is their collective denial that they've been spending money they don't have for years. I've nothing against them as a club but, in the end, their chickens have come home to roost. Same as with Bolton and Bury everyone could see it coming a mile off.
They are not alone. And the sooner the EFL take control of all clubs breaking the rules the better. Level playing fields.
The takeover was completed during the lockdown, with the new owners showing proof that the club could be funded until the end of the season no matter what, they then decided to pull the plug, 12 points, no question, the fans are banging on about the efl allowing the takeover, but if they,d blocked it they,d have been up in arms saying that the efl was allowing the club to go out of business. Blaming the coronavirus for this doesn,t hold water as it was the same for every club in the efl..bottom line, wigan were architects of their own downfall, and whilst i genuinely feel for the fans, the blame lies with their own club...
Paying Moore treble wages to us. Deserve all they get. Same as Winall to Wednesday. They too should get what they deserve.
Give their fans a break though, they are the innocent party in this. Besides, I won’t ever forget them rolling over and dying when we beat them 4-1 away to sneak into the playoffs.
Surprised at the tone of some of these comments. Not sure why Wigan would be singled at over the bigger clubs that all operate in this way and have done for years.
