Am I the only one concerned with the last bit about continuing to fight? Do they know something (or suspect it) meaning they may need to fight to stay in the division? Looks like Roy Castle was wrong. If you want to beat the rest, litigation’s what you need.
I was at first reading, but I wouldn't read too much into it. It's just to assure supporters that whatever happens we will fight
I suspect its more to do with, piss us about and we will take it as far as necessary. Not that they know something. Either way, it clearly shows they wont mess about either. And good to hear
Whoever wrote that, well done. It sets our position out clearly. EFL, stop ******* about. We are on to you.
It's going to take a club to step forwards and start some sort of proceedings to try and level things up and I'm proud it's our club. We don't always get the best press coverage or are reffered to as little old Barnsley punching above their weight battling away which sometimes is correct but why should we allow that to always be the norm? When there are clubs with smaller crowds than us paying 3x wages or clubs throwing money at lost causes then bending the rules to continue with that buying stadiums at inflated prices etc It's about time somebody questioned and highlighted the fact that it's not fair and the rules need to be followed by everyone not just those who can't afford to do anything else. It makes everything we do that bit more special especially at championship level because we know at the minute things are stacked against us but we can be the club that start the ball rolling and level things up.
Great Statement. whether or not our owners are as loaded as they say they are. I’m not sure if the EFL would be prepared to find out in court
Well, i have challanged lots of their actions this season but that is a "ripper". congratulations, a well thought out and strongly worded statement of intent.
Blew me away that statement leaving me more confident. A lot of teams are genuinely buggered for breaching the rules by the sounds.
There has been a lot of stuff in the media about “poor Wigan & their fans, it’s the owners that are to blame” (or the EFL) as though the “owners” have nothing to do with the club they OWN! A few days before putting themselves into administration (owners did it, no one else), they extended the loans of 5 quality players! Now, I call that cheating! Nowt against the players & fans, but, instead of having a go at us, they should go at the people who have cynically done this!
Staying in the division has allowed the club to write that statement without it sounding like sour grapes.
