Set to join Oostende on loan according to this. One of the clubs owned by Chien Lee et al. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport...ws/toby-sibbick-transfer-latest-hibs-22463034
I don’t know a lot about that team or the league but on the face of it, seems like a good move. I see potential in him and hopefully with a few more games under his belt during the loan spell, he can then come back and realise it here.
Good luck to him. It will do him good playing top flight Football and living in a country where English isn't their first language.
I hope they’re paying all his wages then. Wouldn’t put it past ‘Pacific media’ to keep his wages on our books if it suits their agenda.
I wondered that. The problem with this kind of arrangement is it allows the owners to shift money around if they want to
Just seen the Oostende tweet that when translated, mentions the option to buy. He’s not really getting into our side as it stands but I think he could be decent in a couple of years of playing regularly.
It does indeed say that, so I would assume we won't see him at Oakwell again. Possibly not quite suited to Strubers system. Though I can imagine at his age he doesn't want to spend a year on the fringes. There's probably a decent player in there, I wish him all the best.
Bit gutted about the option to buy. With us having a extremely young team, I think we tend to forget that players like sibbick still have a load of room for development. And I saw enough to suggest that he could be a very good CB or DM at championship level. I even thought he played ok at right back considering.
Well yeah I wouldn't be too bothered if that was the case. But I think best we can hope for with Ludewig is another loan.
Echo pretty much all of that. Maybe in a couple of seasons, if he does really well, Chien can sell him back to us on the cheap!
