..(Linda Lovelace 1972?) ....but the fact we beat a team that should have been highly motivated, on their home turf, and that may well end up being in the Premiership after tonight, shows how much progress this group of young players has made in the latter stages of the season. Apart from the one debacle, the restart showed a tightened more disciplined defence, and a number of players coming of age and not looking so overawed. It was only the lack of a finish and final ball that prevented us from achieving safety on our own merits and not having to rely on Wigan's downfall. Depending on how the close season merry-go-round progresses, if we can retain most of the team and Struber, I genuinely believe the past few games showed we could realistically be aiming higher than mere mid table mediocrity and security andactually target a play-off position. Whilst that may be the Gin and beer talking I am quietly optimistic. Over to you Conway and Co.
Owners will be rubbing their hands at the extra cash they will get from player sales. Wouldn’t trust this lot as far as I can throw them to be honest. Hope to be proved wrong, but still plan on giving it a miss until I see how this window pans out. Glad we stayed up though!

For me, today's decision could be the tipping point in the future of Barnsley Football Club. We have survived to play in the Championship next season not through our on field performances, but the financial frailty and mismanagement of a rival who have rightly been punished with the imposition of a twelve point penalty that has seen them relegated. Our good fortune should be the wake up call our Board needs to ensure we are never in this position ever again. We need to see a seismic shift in our recruitment policy, in that they are prepared to sit down with our Coach and identify quality signing that can play alongside some of our younger prospects with the aim of preserving our hard earned place in a league that we are the longest serving participants.
As soon as young lads playing infront of crowds again will be different story, sorry to be a party pooper but behind closed doors stopped us going down for me
I really don’t get why some people feel the need to have a conscience about our survival. If Wigan hadn’t come around waving wads of money in Kieffer’s face we would have had enough points to be safe before the last game of the season. I disagree with the behind closed doors theory as well. Two of our best performances of the season came before the lockdown against a team who will now be playing in the premiership next season. Yes the break gave Mads chance to get his confidence back and Sollbauer’s influence was beyond measure. One big factor that tends to get overlooked with regards to our defence was the introduction of young Walton in goal. He brought the stability and calmness behind our back four that was so sadly lacking earlier in the season.
