Because some people of that age have caused trouble in the past.

    Justified or not?

For some reason this reminds me of that old episode of The Simpsons, when a curfew is placed on Springfield. The OAPs take back the streets, whilst the kids & all other adults are confined to their homes!:D

if the trouble has been repeated and the cost of any damage and loss of revenue from other drinkers that the troublemakers have caused are costing the landlord , why not? He’s in it to make money not as a charity.

My brother in law lives in Woodhouse and he was telling me the locals had piled back into the pubs like nothing had ever changed.

I suppose the question is which forms of discrimination do we allow?
Discrimination based on age is against the law but it's the young being discriminated against not the elderly so it's a 'business decision' made 'because it can'.

If there was a sign on the door saying 'qhites only' because ethnic minorities had caused trouble in the past would that be ok? A ban on transexuals because the landlord feels they cause too much trouble?

whilst I get your point a private establishment operating within the law of the land surely is free to operate it’s business as it sees fit. I don’t believe they have broken a law unless you can point me towards one

if you believe someone or a group, in this case under 25’s have been discriminated against I assume you’ve made a report to the relevant authorities?

Without doing a bit of reading up I couldn't say for certain but my instinct tells me that they've broken the equality act 2010 as age is a protected characteristic. The only defence to that would be if the ban was adjudged to be proportionate in order to achieve a legal aim. I personally don't believe it would be considered proportionate as a proportionate and just response would be to ban the actual trouble causers irrespective of their age not to make a sweeping ban on all 18-25 year olds.

Il see if I can read that. Some pubs and clubs have been arbitrarily choosing 21/25 as an entrance age for years. maybe due to license restrictions I don’t know.

That’s as maybe, but he’s not he has a legitimate reason.
Folks have been banned from premises for years, we used to split up to get into clubs because they didn’t like too many lads together. Some van hen parties etc

Thought so, age is treated the same as gender, race etc in the equality act as far as i know although I’m no expert
