We’ve been having a debate on our WhatsApp group about the season starting and it’s kinda split, some of the lads are saying that it should only start when fans can go back but I’m of the opinion that things have to keep going and If that’s us watching on the tele for a month or so then so be it

How are we supposed to answer that with yes or no? Yes, it should start with or without fans, no it shouldn’t? Are you asking if it should restart at all then or are you asking if fans should be allowed to go back?

Edit: after reading the full content of your post (obviously should have done that first) you are actually asking if it should be postponed not asking whether fans should be able to return from the start, I think. Sorry for jumping the gun.

Up until the season resumed I was completely against games being played without fans but after some teething troubles I actually quite enjoyed watching on iFollow. I would prefer to be in the ground but I don't want the season to be delayed because fans are not allowed back in.

I also don't want fans back in if it means they have to sit with no fans next to, behind or in front of them and with no away fans. If we are only allowed in dotted around the ground I would prefer to carry on watching on iFollow.

Can you rephrase the question? It currently make no sense.

Personally, I'm in favour of allowing fans into games when, and only when, it's safe.
Right now compared to the possibility of increased cases and deaths, football is of no consequence.

I was confused at first too but I think the question is actually ‘should football restart regardless of if fans are able to attend?’

Yes that’s what my intended question was, as I said our conversation was about fans going back into stadiums and wether the season should only commence when fans can go back. I’d like nothing more than to go to a game as soon as the season kicks off however I get why the season will start behind closed doors again, I was just getting the thoughts of others

Did you know, you can put every confirmed case of Covid 19 in Barnsley in the Ponty End and it would only be half full.

    More than likely.
But if you did, half of the other half would walk out with it.

I don't like the idea of starting without fans at all. However I would rather we did than have no football at all.

The season should start on the expected date and full stadiums be allowed from game 1. Our economy is screwed and it's time adults were given the responsibility to make a choice on if they want to go or not. Those who bought a season pass but wouldn't feel safe doing so should be allowed to keep watching on iFollow. If six figure crowds are allowed on packed beaches, and at marches, then Football stadiums shouldn't be restricted. Knowing our board when it comes to legal stuff I suspect they are going through trade law restrictions to see if they can get around the draconian rules.
