I don't think it's one or the other. They'll need 2/3 attacking players for next season, and we don't know what they see as Jacob's best position. He might stay, but I think he's the most likely to leave of all the first team players.
Although it's nice to have the money in the bank. What are they going to use the money towards with the salary cap? Aren't they just bumping up the prices of their own targets broadcasting fees they receive?
That’s a ridiculous fee for a third division player. It’s even more ridiculous the bid coming from a club that is one of the smallest in our league. Can see Brentford ending up like Wigan if they fail again to win promotion. How can a club of their size justify paying the transfer fees and wages that they do?
Big fee that. Seems like he's improved a lot in the last few years though. Hopefully we can keep hold of Brown!
That’s mental. But surely they’ve spent a majority of that on new recruits. They apparently spent over £30M on new players last season and players such as Jansson will be on massive wages.
Thing with Brentford is they are not actually that successful in the transfer window as some make out. They let a lot go for next to nothing but where they do succeed is they always seem to have one player going for big money most seasons.
Yeah their wages will probably be huge. According to Transfermarket they profited to the tune of roughly 70 million. Players bought roughly 65 mil. Players sold roughly 135 mil.
They're also in debt to their owner to the tune of £100 million and spend over 135% of turnover on wages. But we've been here about 20 times in the last three months.
So now we know who's spent a fortnight to wrap up the deal... https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk...ited-have-agreed-deal-sell-ivan-toney-2939575
I'm sick of hearing about how well run they are. If their owner decides to pull the plug at any point, they're knackered.
I can’t stand them. Without their owner they’d still be a third division side playing in front of crowds around 5000 to 6000 max. They’re just another Brighton/Bournemouth/Reading/Wigan etc.
Never believed they would have considered Brown as Watkins replacement, lacks goals, needs to improve his finishing next season. First time and on target goals will come.
