yes the source is the one saving grace. Feels more like a strategically leaked story that they can rapidly deny to pressurise The Crynes
I wouldn't be surprised if this has been leaked by the Club to suggest to the Crynes that they are exploring alternatives (in order to strengthen the club's negotiating position) and as a PR move to start painting a picture that the Crynes are effectively forcing us out
If I were the crynes I’d make a counter leak saying we were negotiating with Wigan for them to play here.
Moving from Oakwell (Merged) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-hold-talks-EFL-clubs-shock-away-Oakwell.html Anyone else seen this..??? Even it’s even remotely true I can’t say without swearing what I think the the bunch that are currently owning us...
I’m no fan of the owners but there has been quite a lot of support for the Cryne’s and for the council on this issue and the £2.75million. Why? What do we actually know? What this says (true or not) is that the majority owners of the club have tried to buy the stadium to perform much needed improvement works, as the current owners don’t contribute, but both current owners of said stadium and land refuse to sell it to them. Sorry, but they don’t have to stay at Oakwell. Refusing to sell it to them to ‘protect’ it won’t work if it’s stood empty. Why would they build a new west stand for example if the ground is half owned by the Cryne’s and half by the council? Makes no sense. There is a lot more to this than meets the eye and blindly blaming the majority owners is very easy given their (lack of) popularity - but let’s be honest, the council and the Cryne’s could do something to make sure the club stays in the boundary of barnsley, and even stays at Oakwell, if they so chose.
Think it is just a manoeuvre to pressure the Cryne family. Wouldn't be the most astute business decision. Think it probably best not to get the pitchforks & torches out just yet.
If there is no statement denying the potential moving of the club tomorrow then I would suspect that the article has a lot of truth to it. Strap on your seatbelts. This is about to get fuçk1ng ugly.
Just think it is probably best for us all to show some restraint and not ramp up the temperature atm. Last thing we need right now is a toxic atmosphere (even in the virtual world). Plenty of time for that later.
To be honest it's hard who to believe.....I know for a fact that PC was at logger heads with the council prior to his death over their refusal to sell their share to him...due to certain fears and beliefs they had about the future and direction that would be taken plus the lack of genuine assurances.they were seeking..re ground and club .....that said fast forward to the present....unfortunately and sorry to say this crew who are in charge now are no better ....I wouldn't p 1ss on any of them if they were on fire .in my opinion Conway and co couldnt lay straight in bed even if they tried ....I dont trust them one bit And they've only got themselves to blame.....for this untrustworthy air that surrounds them It wouldn't surprise me if we were to become the next MKDons .situation. let alone Coventry or previously M/Boro Once again just my opinion the sooner Conway and Co sell up and move on the better.....in my opinion.......once again sooner rather than later Is it just me who thinks they are an embarrassment to the town let alone the club.......
It could equally have been released by the crynes to get the fans on board by verbally attacking the board and thus hopefully getting them to cough up allegedly owed money by forcing their hand....
