What an absolute set of clowns we have in charge.

Why are they so determined to destroy that Industry? Wouldn't be happening if it was the industry the filthy barstewards had their fingers in

 

It’s a very difficult one.The research shows hospitality as a very ‘hot spot’ for infections. But of course we have to balance this with keeping the sector alive. Death rates from the virus are low at the moment whilst infections are rising pretty quickly. I guess you have to take the gamble do you carry on and hope that infections don’t turn to increased deaths or do you try and remove a hot spot for infections before that happens. Unfortunately we have a govt that is incapable of considered rational thought out approaches to anything. Maybe they should just shout gET BREXIt DOne at Covid and hope it goes away.

 

Hospitality reopened on 4th July.

New cases bumped along at mainly under 1,000 until September. Have incresed significantly in September. I'm not sure that hospitality can be the main reason for recent uptick. From a personal viewpoint, if they close hospitality down in won't have a significantly affect me. However I have cllients who it will directly impact.

 

Ie since the kids went back to school.....

I'm not arguing against the schools reopening but it's hardly surprising that infection rates have gone up. I never had a day off sick before my kids started school and not many since they all left school.

 

I was speaking to a geordie yesterday about that, his response was that they’ll have had 12 hours in the pub by then so will be ready for home.

 

Yet you can count the number of MPs from all parties who have questioned the Governments stratetgies.

No parliamentry scrutiny of anything.

 

To be fair, at the August bank holiday weekend , Leeds city centre pubs were rammed, it was like new years eve & as the hours ticked by & more alcohol consumed the more revelling & less social distancing etc & guess what , the spread of the virus has increased since , so the hour of drinking would appear to have a big influence

 

Kids who still use public transport and mix with adults and don't have to wear a mask and are in the main asymptomatic carriers of the disease.

Worldwide research shows hospitality as a hot spot. In terms of the U.K. the Eat out to Help out Scheme seems to have encouraged as it was designed to more people to get out and about and the uptick is at least in part linked to that.

Don’t think there’s any easy answers especially for a stupid govt.

 

Hundreds of people don't cram side by side in Tesco, in my local store the distancing is rigidly enforced and complied with, Tesco staff very quick to remind you if you're stood too close to the person in front of you at the checkout-even told me off for encroaching about a foot!
On the way home I pass around 5 pubs and there is not the slightest sign of social distancing, people crammed together, smoking together outside in close proximity, blowing smoke around like chimneys (forced exhalation surely spreads the virus further?), there are many examples of pubs not adhering to the rules and allowing people to behave as they want. Pubs following the rules are made to suffer for the foolish minority and I do feel sorry for them.
However it is a fact that the hospitality industry is a hotbed of virus spreading so it's no surprise that the chief clown wants to close them down again.

 

You go find me a list of MPs who have questioned the Governments strategies.

Follow it up by providing dates and times of when the laws changed eg face masks on the bus and ill watch the debates on catch up.

 

Without specifics I see it every day, just this week ed milliband and Angela Raynor were very outspoken and very correct. As you are requesting me to do your research, and as you are admitting you’ve not watched any debates I think we can safely say you’ve assumed something.

 

Many though sadly just don’t care. There’s a huge proportion of people in the U.K. who’ve been terrified into the selfish view that all they care about is themselves and their families not catching the virus, and they are totally uninterested in the consequences and collateral damage.

 

I have felt far safer in hospitality settings then in shops. Every pub/restaurant I have been in has been easy to social distance and all places have been really well run. Shops (just supermarkets) it's OK until you're inside and people think because they now have to mandatory wear a piece of flimsy cloth over their kisser, they can forget social distancing.

 

I have to say that has also been my experience.
