With the new salary caps in L1, I’d have thought that whilst we might be able to pick up some bargains, I’d have thought the real issue would be that any players we have whilst in L1 are more likely to go for smaller transfer fees as their heads are more likely to be turned by much bigger wages going into the Championship.
I would have thought that would make their goal of player trading significantly harder.

That's what I was thinking as well. So how come we haven't managed to attract 1 single player from the UK in this transfer window?

I have been banging this drum for a while now, many fans who shout the loudest for the owners to splash their own cash will be the first ones in the queue to ask for their season ticket refund , hypocritical to say the least .

I would guess, partly because it’s still cheaper to go abroad and also domestic transfers normally happen late on in a window.

We have just 17 seasoned players.
That is to say - players that have played regularly in the last 6 months.
It dosen’t need a rocket scientist to see that the club is in desperate need of players.
And like you said - so how come they haven’t been able to attract one single player from the UK.
    It just beggars belief !!!

The UK Transfer Market is notoriously slow and as one of the only countries to not allow fans back in some shape or form there's a lack of money circulating across the divisions. A cautious approach seems to be the theme right now for a lot of clubs. It might only take one significant signing or investment of cash in to the market for the ball to start rolling on transfers.

Our transfer deadline wasn't last week. We don't play for another week. Completely fair to be concerned, but the club have announced that we're hoping to sign at least three players before the Bristol game.

Ritz's performances were so poor that I'd rather be letting Palmer learn on the job than the money we were paying him to hamper us anyway. Also opening opportunities for Oduor too.

To answer the OP, in around April/May the Competitions and Markets Authority (replaced OFT) made it clear that refunds must be given on all contracts which could not be fulfilled due to COVID 19 lockdown. The EFL also then directed that Season Ticket holders should have free iFollow access to the remaining games should they go ahead. However, the legal position now is somewhat less clear cut and the CMA have been silent. There may be an argument to be raised that at the time you bought the ticket you were well aware you may have to settle for watching it free on iFollow as a substitute, given lockdown had not fully ended and much was made in the media of a second lockdown. There is also a possibility that if the owners lose the court case they could (if so minded - and I'm not saying they are) enter admin/CVA and either buy back into a pre-pack or walk away. Season ticket holders would then become unsecured creditors (good luck with that). I support them as best as I feel I can by paying for the matches on iFollow (which I believe they get a substantial portion of) but didn't feel able to renew my season ticket and wouldn't dream of criticising those that did. If we are allowed back I would look at buying a half one or attend on a game by game basis.

Can I just ask - what’s all that to do with the price of potatoes?
You have missed the point I’m making.

Why would you buy a season ticket this year when it would be an issue for you that we wouldnt be allowed in grounds any time soon. Everything about covid has happened with months of warning including this.

    Your post stated the following:
"have supporters the legal right to claim money back from their season tickets?"
I believe I attempted to cast some light on that question. What exactly was the point you were trying to make? What have potatoes got to do with it?

Bit of a strawman comeback mate, I've read the lads post and I can't see the bit about " players he wants" ?
