I wouldn’t be happy if we sold for 3 million I’ll be honest. He’s out of form at the moment yes, but he has proven he can and will score goals at this level. His market value will be above 3 million, even in today market. Doncaster are reportedly going to turn away 3 million for Whiteman, a goal scorer has always been the most valuable asset to a football club. You mention that if we get the equivalent we got for Moore we could invest in someone who actually scores goals. How much do you think a striker would cost who’s going to get around 15 championship goals? It’ll be a lot more than 3 million. Also, we haven’t even adequately replaced Moore yet, so I wouldn’t have any confidence in this leadership replacing Woodrow too. My opinion ofcourse.
And there in lies the problem because they still haven't signed Moore's replacement after 14 months or Browns for that matter. But why let that fact get in the way of the company line that the people who think this board can do no wrong spout despite the mounting evidence to the contrary.
Not so sure there are any that think they can do no wrong. Just take everything as they see in individual matters. Now. Those that think they can’t do owt right. Are numerous.
His replacement would cost the same if not more. Notice other clubs don’t roll over and sell when it comes to selling its best players.
I can kind of understand people suggesting we should hold out for 5 mil for Woodrow. But let's be honest, if you were the buying team, would you be happy to pay 5 mil on someone who has one decent season in the championship? I know i wouldn't want Barnsley to splash 5 mil on a player with a similar record at the age of 25.
Monday just gone i think I told you? One of those players i mentioned to you obviously didn't happen. But the other player coming in is probably going to happen when a certain player of ours leaves..
He does score though. He's got time on his contract and we don't have the money to replace him. Toney hadn't scored in the championship, Cauley did last season. Under 5 million and we have sold us selves short (again!) And I actually think money is useless now, we need him in the team end of debate.
That video is badly edited. I can’t believe it’s made it onto their official social media platform. From the little clips I’ve seen of him though he looks to be an attacking type full back. Straight replacement for Ludewig you’d think.
I think we will only get fair market value when the players are able to express themselves in a better team.
Its inevitable we will lose our best players but we just simply have to; a. Get a decent price for them b. Replace with someone decent. Otherwise the whole plan is flawed and its relegation fight all over.
Hope hes good. Apparently not their first choice either which is embarrassing on our behalf if he don't turn out to be good enough.
I'm not sure there would have - from what I can see he was released due to the uncertainty of covid, then re-signed. So technically they didn't offer him a contract when he was a free agent?
