    Thanks marlon. watched it. On the whole an affectionate if slightly bordering on patronising, short biopic of one of our most famous sons. At least RB added some perspective. It must have taken some real guts to have done what Charlie did at the time he did it. He won over a tough audience and earned some genuine affection. I was glad to hear he got a MBE.

    I lived two doors away from Charlie at South Hiendley and went with him to various Clubs from Newcastle to Nottinghan and Liverpool to Hull. He was accepted everywhere and went down well.
    A true gentleman who used his colour to make a good living. Sadly not with us anymore but remembered by many.

    I used to do a bit of volunteer work for a local Charity called Barnstormers which raised money for local people mainly children .
    Charlie was patron of this charity and got to a few gigs during his last days and his humour was with him to the end even though he himself was suffering .
    A very selfless and generous man .
