Nor I in 83 years. And from being a young kid believing in fair play have believed this antipathy arose from the Bible. Wherein whilst 'good' was the product of an individual born by immaculate conception, 'bad' is identified as specific race of people. An injustice reinforced by the fact the only name most of us can remember from the Bible is JEWdas Iscariot!

I'd be very, very surprised if, coming from this region, you haven't heard and even said, "I've been Jewed" referring to being swindled.

As a youth, I heard it all the time, said it all the time, it was the only phrase in common usage where I lived that meant someone had been taken advantage of with regard to their money. I didn't know the etymology of the word, I had no idea it referred to Jewish people (in Barnsley Ju can sound like Du) but that's how ingrained it is.

Erm the Tory party mentioned it any given opportunity. Weird that islamophobia not treated in the same way.

What the report written and leaked by Corbyns office that lays the blame at everybody else's door including those on the receiving end of the abuse and threats. He couldn't keep his mouth shut for 5 minutes despite the fact an independent commission had said his office had acted to interfere in investigations. His office the people working for him, are we to believe he didn't know what his staff were up to that nobody reported to him what his staff were up to. There are three possibilities none of which show Corbyn in a good light.
    1. His office were acting on his instruction and or with his knowledge. = Corrupt
    2. He hadn't got a clue what was happening in his own office or didn't care. = Incompetant
    3. He didn't know at first what was going on but when informed he either wasn't strong enough, didn't care enough or agreed with what they'd done. = Corrupt or incompetant or both.
His leadership is a stain on the labour parties history

Feeling a bit vindicated today, got dogs on here for months when I spoke out about Corbyn and antisemitism. It was all right wing propaganda. If only Labour had listened there’d have been no red wall and no tory government. If only Barnier had listened there’d have been no brexit. Labour became the party of intolerance under Corbyn. It wasn't a right wing smear campaign after all was it.

It was. If it hadn't been that it would have been sonething else, like how he looked eating a bacon sandwich. I doubt anyone didnt vote Labour purely based on thinking Corbyn was anti semitic, especially those who voted for Brexit.

I didn't vote labour because of Corbyn, his views his history his policies and the rise of momentum. I wasn't alone. If you still believe it was all a smear campaign against him then I really can’t help you.

He started getting involved when it was clear that Ian McNicol was deliberately holding back cases & preventing them from been dealt with.

The report shows that once Corbyn brought in Jennie Formby to deal with the cases things improved

The report you speak of is largely fact based with actual emails cited.

There’s email trails going back years of Corbyn & McDonnell questioning what was going off & why complaints weren’t been dealt with in a timely manner & then as the EHRC report says things improved when Corbyn appointed Jennie Formby.

So none of the 3 options you give

I don't know what Corbyn hoped to achieve with his initial response to the report, that he thought would benefit the Labour Party. Once he said the problem was exaggerated, then Starmer had to do something, otherwise the issue of AS in the party would rumble on and continue to cost them in future elections. Maybe something the like of McCluskey should think about before describing anything as an attack on the left.

Len McClusky sticking up for his mate. It’s admirable but it’s wrong and as usual way over the top.
