The team selection and formation we played against Cardiff showed a clear lack of knowledge about our players and the league we are in. Murray in charge and we could still have won the previous 2 matches with a sending off and a wonder goal. We can't give points away waiting for Val to get a grip of the bleeding obvious as he gave us no chance from the start against Cardiff with his selection. It looks like he is going 343 no matter what players are available or who we are playing so up to now my opinion is he's **** and may be Murray feels the same, that opinion may change in time.
Surely his time would be better spent checking this forum to get the real inside track on best positions, tactics etc.
He dunt seem any different from what I`m seeing still stood wit hands in his trackie bottoms pockets playin wi his balls narn ageean.
Thing is he's been here less than a fortnight, so no wonder he has a clear lack of knowledge of our players and the league? The selection wasn't much different from the Watford game, other than Simoes in for the injured Brittain, and playing Frieser out wide in a position he has apparently played previously. To write him off after twelve days in the job and suggest Murray could have won those games - Murray who has plenty of knowledge of this team and league and still fails to win a game - is incredible.
I`d have Miller ont bench Setdi, not seen enough to write him off yet and new managers/coaches get the best out of different players and maybe the confidence shown in him might just see him improve. Whatever the new gaffer needs to see what he has inherited.
If the new coach has insufficient knowledge of our players and the league we are playing in then he shouldn't be picking the team until he does. We have enough experience in the back room staff to help out until he does. Anyone who plays Schmidt Chaplin and Simeos up front, plays Frieser at rwb and leaves Oduor on the bench and keeps swapping Styles from LWB to RWB against Cardiff shouldn't be picking our side. So at the minute his decisions are ****, when he gets to grips with our players and the league I may change my mind. We have been over how QPR and Watford games could have been just as easily lost as won.
Thought it was just me that was alarmed. Glad it isn't. I think we could have got something the other night had we picked the right team in spite of injuries. Saying Cardiff were better etc. They were there for the taking. They didn't have to break sweat to beat us. We offered nothing. Anyway that's gone but he looks a tinker man to me.
And what role does Adam Murray play in that? Is he merely Dicky Mint to Ismael's Doddy? He has a voice, speak up Muzza! Help the new gaffer out a bit..
I'd be seriously underwhelmed if I was a Swindon fan..... As for the new manager, far too early to tell what his management ability is. I really hope it's not going to be another struber situation tho with the obsession of playing one formation at all times.
Exactly! He's testing them out. I dont get the criticism, we cant change the players we've got and it's going to take time for him to work with them. And we've won 2 out of 3. To criticise his selection and then say we've people behind the scenes who could pick the squad, well why dont they help, are they silent partners? They're on decent wedge and they can have a word in his ear. If anything, at least he now knows probably not a great idea to play Frieser right wing, and definitely not a good idea to play Paddy from the start. Personally I dont like 3-4-3 but it looks like that's what he's going with.
