Think Joe Piggott could be worth a punt.
26yr old so just about young enough.
Seems to have hit his form at this stage of his career, already with 5 goals from 10 in league 1 this season. 6ft 2 so would add some needed height up top if required. Wouldnt break the bank.

Other clubs would already be sniffing round our players if doing well ready to sign em as soon as window opens, we should be doing the same and making a few noises to his agent, just within the rules!

If we don't go for him, I expect that he will be picked up by another championship team. Get in first for once.

Stats on goals are not the worst I’ve seen compared to other punts. But Can he hold the ball up for example to bring others into play etc. Pretty sure our lot would have a more in depth look at him. That’s what scouts are for. To take a look at his all round ability. I think we would be a more attractive proposition for players of a better caliber if we are not in the relegation battle. (Come the next window) Most seem to think we were destined for. What’s the latest on the lad we loaned straight out after signing him. ? Stevenage wasn’t the best place to send him for me. If you join a poor side. that can affect your performances not having the right players around you. You have to fit the system so to speak.
Edit. Jack Aitchison has only played 1 game for Stevenage. What good is that. Gerrim back. Surely if they aren’t going to play him they could return or we could recall. Loan ends 30th May.

Seem to remember him playing against us and he looked fairly decent a couple of years ago.
Probably developed as a player, starting to hit his prime now at 26.

Mentioned his name in week leading up to end of last window. Seems to tick most boxes and doubtful he would cost a fortune.
Certainly seems one of best affordable options from the lower leagues.

Don’t disagree with anything you lot are saying. ( I can’t comment on the lad) But looked decent against us in one game doesn’t constitute a reason to buy. As someone said on here. Odejayi tore John Terry apart. Didn’t make him a great player.
Like I say. I reckon our lot have a portfolio on every player that may fit the bill. This may, or not be, one of em. I trust they would make the right judgment and not just take a punt.
It’s sometimes a lottery, generally more failures than successes. A downside to offering long term contracts. So they have to try get it right first time.

How do you know we are not looking at him , its possible we are monitoring a number of strikers, who knows, but our last few signings of James , Brittain & Kane dont look too bad & therefore we should keep our fingers crossed that a striker signing will follow suit .

    Agree Red.
You take a punt on youth and hope to develop. You don’t take a punt on an established player unless you think it will reap dividends.

I thought we only signed short players up front. Are you sure it's not his brother Lester?

internet Shows a lot of clubs interested prior to the end of the last window. Cardiff. Leicester Reading and Swansea. So appears in demand, What put em off. ? Unless they hope to get him on the cheap. Says his contract began 2018 but length undisclosed. ?
Guess a bidding war will ensue. Come January.

I wouldn't be surprised if we went in for Marko Raguz from LASK. Played under Ismael and played alongside Frieser and Schmidt.

Tall target man type but seems to be somewhat decent with ball at his feet.

Just an aside .... I thought that Lyle Taylor's performance for Forest at the weekend was one of the best displays of target-man striker i have seen in a long time. He scored both goals, but it was the way that he was always available for the ball out of defence and his linking play which caught the eye. Talk about winning a game single-handed. I am not saying we should be in for him, because he is way out of our range, but wouldn't it be great if there was another Lyle Taylor somewhere at home, or across Europe?

Jon Mellish playing for Carlisle converted to striker from central defender, 10 goals this season. He’s going to be a good un
