But you don’t get it do you? Their aspiration goes no further than being a protest movement, and sod the people who need a Labour government to help those who need it most. Ideological purity is what it’s all about.
Trade Unions not fit for purpose, spoken like a true Tory. I haven’t the time now to go on but fek me you know nothing
I'm not sure which he has rehashed or abandoned? I don't think he has in fact. It's been a strange first 8 months since he took over but he has already shown himself more than capable of delivering what he has said.
Trade unions do a lot of good for the worker. It is they who set the agenda to start with for these laws to be passed . They also make sure these laws are implemented and adhered to as far as they can taking on the employers who try to get around them , some employers even now sh it on these laws and terrorise the workforce by threatening to consign them to the dole queues. Thousands of cases taken on and pursued in the courts to help otherwise stranded employees . That’s just a few of the good things they do . Trade Unions are needed more now they definitely are fit for purpose maybe you have a decent employer lots don’t .
Amazes me how people think that anybody not 100% aligned with their views must be tory, or that "they are all the same". I'm confident that a Starmer Government would be unrecognisable from Cameron, May and Johnson Governments.
I agree. there seems to be a "corbyn or nothing" attitude amongst some. There is only one way to defeat this tory government and thats to unite, you might not like it 100% but when has that ever been a problem before or actually happened? ill tell you.. never! i was and am a massive fan of JC, however there can and is more than one way of enacting socialist policies and principles for the greater good. I sometimes feel as some labour party supporters actually enjoy being in opposition far more than they would enjoy being in government.
There's an accent on the u, making it a different ascii character thereby defeating the swear filter. just like the other thread where you replace the u in *u** with the umlaut version.
I mean that I don't agree that the left should put up and shut up if there is a push towards adopting more right wing policy. We need them to put their POV.
Publicly rowed back from progressive taxation and reduced carbon targets. Failed to oppose the Psycops bill which decreases human rights. For 10 see above.
If we had decent working conditions and better employment laws we would never have needed Trade Unions in the first place. With the Tories making it much harder to take employers to Tribunal everyone needs to be in a Trade Union.
I'm not sure where you have seen him rowing back on taxation from what I have seen he has said we may need to be even more bold not move back on it. 3 days ago a robust Green Deal was published headed by Anneliese Dodds and Ed Miliband its slightly different to the one offered in December but still offers far more than the other parties in terms of jobs and bringing our carbon emissions down.
But there are far more companies out there that don’t treat workers fairly. It’s all ifs, but ifs don’t exist, we have to deal what’s in front of us. The laws are treat with contempt. The rule of creating fear in the workplace probably pre 1950’s. Even the big companies issuing threats. Mostly foreign owned. How many industry/public services/Utilities are British Owned. Very few I would guess. Unions are being strangled by draconian rules. Time to get off their feet and fight back. And they can only do that with the support of the members. It’s been said before, look at the Nordic countries where unions bring value to the Table. And membership is encouraged by the government’s.
Far too many defeatists in the workplace and in the country. We live in a society ruled by fear of being discarded and accepting of it. The “Ah but.” Folk
So we agree a diluted policy. Offering more than the Greens? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...rget-2030-labour-climate-change-a9586971.html arguing against progressive taxation. https://www.labourgnd.uk/news/labour-opposes-corporation-tax-rise
It's not a diluted policy though is it? It's a slightly different one not a diluted one. September that bias article is from I suggest you look at some more up to date information that will hopefully ease your worries on taxation.
