If everything we're owed is paid up then I can't wait to see it reinvested into the team. I'll look for it in January.
I think investment & covering the financial losses caused by the pandemic have to go hand in hand , whist investment to improve the squad should always be looked at ,the fact that some clubs are facing financial disaster then we have to proceed with caution to make sure we do not end up in the same position .
Very true , unfortunately the simple truth is that to run the club under the current situation, money made from transfer dealings will have to be used to meet the every day running costs of the club & the longer it goes on there will be less money available to invest on the pitch .
Looks like we'll have to wait for the Moore replacement then. What's another 6 months when it's already been 2 years?
What will we do with the money we may get for Mowatt, seems all has gone quiet on him resigning for the club. Will The January transfer window strengthen or weaken the team?
Transfer fees paid for Kane, Helik, Frieser and Brittain. Probably loan fee/wages for James. Contracts for Woodrow, Walton, Styles and Palmer. Contract/signing on fee for Christie-Davies.
You’ve got almost £3.5 million in transfer fees there. That’s significant investment for a club our size in a behind closed doors environment. New contracts likely upwards of £250k for the next year and beyond. We’ve saved money obviously with some of the big earners that left, but I’m also confidently guessing there were survival bonuses built in for players too. But basically, we’ve lost a stack load of revenue and the fact we still invested in the squad with minimal departures should be seen as more of a positive than it has been by certain quarters.
To be fair we sold brown and wilks the last window wilks 1.1million brown 2million, so should see us in good situation if the worst case happens and no fans for rest of season.
If he keeps playing how he is there will be interest but we wont be able to demand much of a fee with 6 months left on his contract.
